A boutique barn nestled in tranquil Cornish countryside close to the banks of the Helford. A wonderful choice for a peaceful holiday in Cornwall with family or friends, The Old Granary is certainly the place to go if you're looking to sit back and relax.
Step inside to discover a super-stylish barn offering reverse level living. The large entrance hall has plenty of space for muddy boots, sandy flip flops and other essential beach gear. Two beautiful bedrooms can be found on the ground floor; a gorgeous super-king room with neutral calming tones (which can also be made up as a twin room) and a king-size room which is decorated in pretty pastel pinks; both bedrooms of course have fabulous en suite shower-rooms. The principal bedroom is on the first floor with a sumptuous king-size bed and a Jack and Jill bathroom, which links to the landing. After a day of adventures, you'll welcome a peaceful night's sleep in these tranquil bedrooms, each with luxurious bedding and linens. Bliss!
Head upstairs, admiring the charming, original exposed stone on your way up to discover the gorgeous open plan kitchen and living areas. You will have no problem relaxing with two magnificent sofas and a squishy armchair to sink into, ideal for those cosy evenings relaxing with a glass of your favourite tipple! The double doors overlook the outside space and can be thrown open to let the fresh air and sunshine flood in. The kitchen is contemporary and fresh, with a Nespresso machine for those all-important morning coffees. The utmost care has been taken in creating this gorgeous space, with luxurious touches throughout and original artwork by the Cornish artist Amanda Hunt.
Head outside to discover the lovely front garden with a courtyard to the side, and a sweet hand-crafted bench perfect for soaking up the sunshine. The Old Granary's friendly neighbours include the cows who live on site and two other holiday lets The Old Stables (4945). Church View (4943) makes a great choice for an eco-friendly holiday as it has air source heat pumps and solar panels. There is plenty of parking at The Old Granary with private parking for four cars and an integrated garage too.
Set in a rural idyll on a working cattle farm in the village of Mawgan, this is a delightful place for your Cornwall holiday. The cows enjoy grazing on the farmland in the summer and are in the sheds behind the barns in the winter months, and you might hear a gentle lowing from time to time. Mawgan has a fabulous pub nearby, The Ship, which is a great spot for a delicious meal and drinks and don't forget Gear Farm pasties, which are a must, and also try Gwella Dairy ice-cream too - there's so much local produce to choose from. The village shop is just a short stroll away, and if you fancy heading out for a walk, the pretty banks of the Helford and Tremayne Quay are nearby.
If you're looking to explore more of Cornwall, you're certainly in a great location to do so! The popular village of Porthleven is nearby, with a fantastic selection of coffee shops and eateries, and beautiful Mullion Cove is well worth a visit during your stay. A little further afield, you will find the cheerful town of Falmouth with its wonderful restaurants, pretty golden sand beaches and laid-back atmosphere. There's plenty to see and do on your Cornwall holiday, whether you're searching for a relaxing escape to the countryside or are planning a week jam-packed with activities.
