TwinSurrounded by the magnificent, unspoilt beauty of the local area, including many spectacular sandy beaches, a memorable Welsh holiday is promised in this delightful cottage. Nestled in the heart of the St David's peninsula, walkers, surfers and beach combers will be in holiday heaven.
The world-famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is easily accessed from the cottage, meandering around the stunning Welsh coastline, revealing expanses of sandy beaches and craggy coves, speckled with gorgeous coastal towns and villages, ideal for a much-deserved cold drink en route, or a tasty lunch al fresco. The Shed at Porthgain serves the best fish and chips in the world. Try them and see! The Cambrian Inn serves delicious dishes, and a Welsh cake and cup of tea are a must in MamGu's in Solva.
The well-presented, spacious accommodation is set over two floors. Take much deserved time out relaxing in the comfortable sitting-room, which on chillier evenings glows with the warmth of the open fire. The tranquil location promises a hushed night's sleep in any of the bedrooms. The en suite bedroom sits on the ground floor, with a double room on the first floor enjoying magical sea views towards the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland on a clear day. The fresh and airy twin bedroom looks towards the rolling meadows to the front.
Soak up the sea views on balmy evenings from the sun-room, the perfect place to forget the world, enjoy a glass of wine and get into a good book. On rainy days, the large table in the attractive dining-room is ideal for jigsaws and board games or for sitting together, enjoying leisurely holiday meals, laughter and being reminded of how much you love those around you.
It's a great place to plan the holiday excursions. Surfers and children will love Newgale beach and nearby Whitesands, beautiful sandy beaches, ideal for days out, picnics, making sandcastles and the most of the sea. Lifeguards are on duty in both beaches throughout the summer.
There are two enclosed gardens. The rear garden is huge and perfect for ball games and playing. The dogs will love it too. Imagine sitting on the top terrace, with pergola, soaking up the sun and the wonderful views across the Irish Sea towards Strumble Head, or with a sundowner under the starry skies. The garden to the front of the cottage is accessed via the sun-room and enjoys stunning sea views.
Two pubs are within walking distance of the cottage and the local garage, a two minute drive away, has a very well stocked shop with lots of local produce and a bakery.
There is something for all ages in the area; horse riding on the beach is popular from Nolton Riding Stables, a round of golf at Priskilly Forest golf course, fishing, fantastic boat trips, you may even spot dolphins (booked in St Davids), and a must between April and August is to see the puffins on Skomer Island.
Family attractions such as The Bug Farm, Castell Henllys, a Celtic village taking you back in time in an Iron Age Settlement, Abereiddi Beach, with the spectacular natural Blue Lagoon, Bluestone, Oakwood Park, the magnificent St David's Cathedral and for day trips, how about a drive to the south of the county to Tenby and Saundersfoot, or the castles at Manobier, Carew and Pembroke.
