All on one level (apart from one step up from the porch), Magnolia Cottage offers the best of both worlds; bright, spacious rooms that still retain a cosy country feel. From the moment you arrive in the pretty setting, you are sure to feel relaxed and ready for your Somerset holiday.
With windows on three sides, the sitting-room floods with light throughout the day and when the evenings draw in, light up the wood-burner and choose a comfy spot on the sofa to curl up with a good book. Cooking up holiday meals will be a treat in the excellently equipped kitchen, or if you fancy a night off then head to the local pub, The Redan Inn, serving seasonal pub classics.
The bedrooms in which to rest your sleepy head after a busy day exploring are superbly comfortable with the flexibility of 'zip and link' (super-king or three-foot twin) beds in each room. Breakfast in bed is a must in the main bedroom, where there are pretty views of the courtyard. A colourful bathroom, complete with convenient handrails, completes the accommodation.
Outside, the attractive setting of Magnolia Cottage is evident and we are sure you will enjoy the beautiful colours in the rose-filled garden. Your private, enclosed courtyard is a perfect spot for your morning coffee, or afternoon tipple. As well as the courtyard, there is an area of lawn where you are welcome to sit – your four-legged friends are sure to explore this area too. All of the outside area is enclosed providing the white entrance gate is shut however please do keep an eye on children and dogs as beyond the white gate is a lane.
The friendly and welcoming owners live in the house just across the driveway; close enough to be on hand if you need them however you are assured of your privacy.
Chilcompton is a traditional Somerset village, situated in the Mendip Hills which are fantastic for walkers and wild-life watchers alike. From Magnolia Cottage, you can take a leisurely stroll along the tranquil River Somer and within half a mile or so, you will arrive at Manor Farm, a rural enterprise hub with a fantastic cafe (The Holy Cow) and Midsomer Quilting – dubbed the UK's favourite quilting shop!
The historic Cathedral City of Wells is a short drive away, as is the market town of Frome with its renowned monthly artisan markets and independent shops. A visit to beautiful Bath is also well worth the 30 minute drive. Whether you are looking for a relaxing break to switch off, or a base to explore this fabulous area of Somerset, Magnolia Cottage will be ideal.

So many of the windows have such pretty views of the courtyard and garden - this is from the kitchen.

The other side of the beautiful gate is the owners' garden, with their house to the left.
Keep your eyes peeled for the white gate which is the entrance to your private driveway.
Your driveway is directly in front of the cottage and this area is yours to enjoy. The friendly owners are close enough to be on hand should you need them however you assured of the upmost privacy.
This is the beautiful Chew Valley Lake, just a short drive away.
Beautiful view from the top of the Mendips - you will never tire of exploring this area.
Nunney Castle, a hidden gem, is a 20 minute car journey away.
