Perfectly situated in the heart of the pretty fishing town of Newlyn, Rubble Cottage is a beautiful 18th Century Grade II Listed cottage, sympathetically restored in conjunction with English Heritage and located in a row of characterful cottages leading towards the picturesque harbour.

From the moment you arrive at Rubble Cottage you will be captivated by its charming interiors and traditional furnishings. The cosy sitting-room has a gorgeous inglenook fireplace, home to a warming wood-burner and a comfy sofa, the perfect place to relax after a busy day. The kitchen/diner has a fabulous gas fired AGA and all the additional equipment you'll need to cook a delicious meal. A large farmhouse table completes this room, the ideal place to chat about the adventures of the day! You will also find a separate garden-room with tiny, covered courtyard, a delightful spot whatever the weather.

Climb the stairs to the first floor and you will find two pretty bedrooms and the family bathroom. Bedroom one has a comfy king-size bed for a restful night and charming traditional furniture, whilst bedroom two has twin beds, ideal for either children or adults. The family bathroom on this floor has a fabulous slipper bath with separate shower cubicle so you can choose either a long soak or a refreshing shower. Up a flight of stairs to the second floor you will find the fabulous, spacious main bedroom with a gorgeous super-king size bed and en suite shower-room. Whilst there is no outside space here, the harbourside is a mere stone's throw away so you can take your morning coffee, evening aperitif and everything in between, down to the harbour and watch the comings and goings on the water to your hearts content.

Newlyn is a great base for a Cornish escape. Quite literally on the doorstep you will find a great selection of eclectic shops, galleries, coffee shops and restaurants. Penzance is a twenty-minute stroll away along the seafront promenade where you will find a bustling town and busy harbour. If you fancy a day out with a difference, the daily ferry to the Isles of Scilly leaves from here but you do need to plan ahead and purchase a ticket in advance.

Further east, St Michael's Mount stands proudly in Mounts Bay, a spectacular castle reached by a walk along a causeway at low tide and a ferryboat when the tide is high. Walkers too will find plenty of interesting hikes to enjoy, whether heading inland along countryside footpaths or the coast path with dramatic views and historic engine houses.

To the west, the quaint village of Mousehole is just a delight, pretty as a picture and bursting with charm. Further along the coast Porthcurno beach sits under the watchful eye of the Minack Theatre where you can watch plays and musicals with the mighty Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop (book ahead as it's a popular spot).

If water sports are your thing, then head to the north coast where surfers are tempted by the Atlantic rollers of Sennen, St Ives and Gwithian. St Ives is a particular favourite with pretty cobbled streets, a great selection of galleries, independent shops and eateries. The beaches here are famed for their turquoise waters and stunning views. However you plan to spend your holiday, Rubble Cottage is a great base for all your Cornish adventures.
