Rubble Cottage is a beautiful, well equipped and comfortable cottage. Just off the main road so it's very quiet. Found a much nearer carpark just around the corner, a few hundred yds away. Plenty of places to eat. We personally loved The Tolcarne Inn and The Fisherman's Arms not forgetting Lewis's chippy. Penzance and Mousehole are around a mile away so easy to walk. A visit to the Minack Theatre is a must. Also saw the dolphins on a boat trip to the Isle of Scilly which was a definite highlight.
Mrs Ayres September 2023
Cottage perfect and in a good position.
Mrs Barry September 2023
Fabulous property with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Newlyn has plenty of facilities & is close to The Coast Path, which was the main reason for choosing Rubble Cottage. As with the majority of these beautiful places, parking is a pain, but we found a space close by where we could purchase a weekly ticket for £15
Mrs INGHAM July 2023
This was a lovely clean well-equipped cottage that made a great base for exploring the local area. There is car parking nearby and plenty of good places to eat or to get groceries. There is also a frequent bus service. Highly recommended.
Mrs keeling July 2023
A charming, comfortable and well equipped cottage which was in a great location for us to walk three days of the SW coast path (St Ives round to Penzance). Lots to see and do in the area, though we barely scratch the surface as our main aim was to enjoy our walking though we loved our trip to the Minack Theatre. Spoilt for choice of good places to eat and drink. Location of the cottage was great in Newlyn for easy strolls to buy our fish or have a coffee. Highly recommend. A gem of a cottage and I now want to go and stay there in the winter.
Mrs Nolan June 2023
Beautiful, extremely comfortable house, excellently kitted out with everything you need. Lovely cream tea waiting for us on arrival! Our second visit and definitely won’t be our last!
Mrs Collins June 2023
Beautifully presented, extremely well equipped and very comfortable cottage in an excellent location. Highly recommended.
Mrs Clark May 2023
We found Rubble Cottage the perfect base for our holiday, it is beautifully furnished and very well equipped, so comfortable and cosy with the Aga. We enjoyed watching the boats coming and going from the harbour just a few paces from the door and walking down to the shops selling an impressive variety of freshly caught fish.
Mrs Trevarthen February 2023
Rubble Cottage is a lovely cottage, very spacious with good facilities and a well equipped kitchen. I liked the amount of space for hanging coats, leaving boots and bags etc; plenty of hooks and shelf space. The living room is great for relaxing in, comfortable and cosy. Newlyn is a brilliant village, Penzance is a half hour walk along the harbour, there is excellent public transport by bus and train and a lot of west Penwith is pretty much within walking distance.

Mrs Barlow July 2022
Rubble Cottage is beautifully furnished and fitted out - we found it extremely comfortable and really pleasant to spend time in, with a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and a luxurious bath. Newlyn was easy to navigate around and we found some good places to eat, beautiful local beaches and things to do. Cornish coastal villages are always hilly so be aware of steep slopes and steps - your calves will remember!
Mrs Usher June 2022
Excellent eateries in and around Newlyn, highly recommend the cinema as well.
Mr Grisoni April 2022
Rubble Cottage is an excellent place to stay for walking the Coastal Path.
Mrs Donaldson April 2022
Highly recommend this cottage for a stay in Cornwall. Extremely comfortable, spacious and well-equipped and in an excellent location. Newlyn is a really interesting working port and the town itself has a range of good eateries and a fabulous cinema. It's also a great location for exploring further afield with easy access to a regular bus service between Mousehole and Penzance.

Spacious lovely cottage with all the facilities you can possibly want. No you can't see the sea, nor park right outside the front door, but easily made up for by the location and house itself.

Miss Robbins April 2021
The cottage is in a perfect location with views of the harbour. The Aga was a lovely addition to the cottage and the top floor bedroom was spacious and provided excellent views of the local area. In great location for walking along the sea front to Mousehole and along the promenade to Penzance.
Dr Stoate April 2021
A very well appointed, and comfortable, cottage ideally placed for exploring that part of Cornwall.

The house was a delight. Warm and spacious with a lovely cream tea and a bunch of fresh flowers on arrival. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary during our visit and it was the perfect place. Cannot fault it in any way and the only regret is not booking for longer! A fabulous cottage in a wonderful location.

Mrs Armour August 2020
We have stayed in dozens of UK cottages and Rubble Cottage was one of the very nicest. The attention to detail in every aspect from decor to the quality of the sheets was excellent. The cottage was spotless and welcoming on our arrival. We found Newlyn to be charming with everything we needed as a holiday base - highly recommended.
Mrs Stringer August 2020
Rubble cottage was absolutely amazing. It was spotless on arrival and there was a lovely welcoming gift of a cream tea and lovely flowers, very thoughtful. The cottage was so spacious, there were 4 of us so if we wanted to chill in different rooms we could! Our room at the top was exceptionally amazing. Newlyn is a lovely little fishing harbour and the cottage is a very short walk to it. We went crabbing off the harbour which was fun. There are a few shops, pubs and restaurants in Newlyn, also an amazing fish and chip shop! Everyone was very friendly. The location of the cottage was fantastic, we walked to penzance and walked to mousehole (which was lovely), both were lovely walks. There are lots of places to drive to, which we did. There are lots more places we could have visited but ran out of days so we will definitely be going back and we would definitely book rubble cottage again! We had an amazing holiday.
Mr Garrett December 2019
A wonderful cottage in a lovely location. Would love to visit again, it was a very memorable Christmas. Thankyou for some lovely memories.

What a perfect spot to enjoy a festive break. Did you see the unique Christmas tree in the village? Made entirely from reclaimed fishing gear found in the harbour, it's recycling at it's best! Tanya, Customer Support

Mr. Reuss July 2019
Seemless feeling at home on vacation in the charming old fishing harbour town Newlyn situated in probably one of Cornwall‘s most attractive areas nested between picturesque Mousehole and Pensance close by and awesome beaches within reach like Sennen Cove, Gwithian Towans Beach close to St. Ives and Purthcurno Beach with the not to be missed Minack Theatre just above. The amenities provided by the cottage were to the full expectations of my family of five. The Cottage is a high recommend to families.
Ms Wagstaffe July 2019
Rubble cottage was so adorable! Beautifully decorated and super comfy beds and couches to relax on. The car park is a very short walk down the road which made life much easier. Newlyn is a really lovely little seaside town - make sure you go to Jelberts ice cream store! An easy 20 min walk into Penzance too (along the sea).
Reply from Classic Cottages
We second that a trip to Jelberts is a must if you are in Newlyn - and don't forget the clotted cream! We're so pleased you had a wonderful stay at Rubble Cottage - great location, gorgeous interior (and so close to Jelberts) - you'll never want to leave. Tressa, Customer Support

Brilliantly converted cottage in the heart of Newlyn
Mr Reed March 2019
Rubble Cottage is beautifully restored with all modern needs catered for, but still loads of character. We loved the harbour being just a few paces from the front door. Watching the fishing boats bring in our fish for Fridays supper was magical. Nearby art galleries were the icing on the cake.
Mr Witherick January 2019
Rubble Cottage is beautifully presented in a historic part of Newlyn. What a treat to be able to buy the days catch from one of the fish merchants or go to one of the local pubs and enjoy it freshly cooked.
