Dr Jones August 2025
This is one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in. Every detail has been done to an exceptionally high standard and the outside space and tranquility are exceptional. Close enough to lovely beeches yet peaceful when you have had enough of the crowds. Staying here for a week was fabulous. Thank you....

Mrs Darton August 2025
Really lovely, comfortable cottage with very extensive grounds, well maintained by the friendly gardener who comes on Fridays. Ensure that you follow directions given, not the satnav since the unpaved lane beyond the cottage is unpassable in a car.

Dalgover is a lovely farmhouse in a nice, peaceful location. Although the online details mentioned the access by rural farm track, what it didn’t’t mention was the terrible state of that track in parts, resulting in a very bumpy, uncomfortable ride even in our large car. Also the online details did not mention the water filled Ford we had to cross each time we went in and out of the farmhouse. Which was a great shame, because overall we enjoyed our stay; lovely house, nice standard of accommodation, and good amenities - but the access road would put us off rebooking. The lovely, large garden provides a quiet, peaceful stay in a pretty setting. Our stay in September was blessed with mixed weather, so we were very pleased that the heating was on throughout our stay. That said, the house, particularly downstairs still had a strong damp smell, very noticeable when we entered the house on the first day, and throughout our stay. It was particularly noticeable in the dining area and the Tv sitting room. We realise that the farmhouse is an old property, but the damp smell needs addressing. The steep stairs, with restricted head room, together with the ‘split’ stairway at the top was a big concern for us, we ended up leaving the landing light on each night, and I think this area would be a concern for quite a few people, regardless of age or mobility. I would suggest the owners be transparent and put a photo online of the landing area for future renters to be aware, and forewarned of the layout. The location of the property was very convenient to get to local beaches and places of interest. ...

Thanks so much for sharing your review. We're pleased to report that there is another access to the property avoiding the ford - we're sorry for any confusion. We always recommend following the directions we send with your arrival details as sat navs can lead you to a more challenging route. Whilst there is no evidence of damp at the farmhouse, we do agree that older Cornish properties such as Dalgover can often smell a little different and benefit from good ventilation. We're sorry that some aspects of the layout weren't quite right for you, but we're pleased that you enjoyed your stay overall. Julie, Customer Support ...

Mr Foreman August 2025
We enjoyed our week at Dalgover Farmhouse in the late summer. We were looking for space, privacy and a connection with nature and that is exactly what we got. Perfect for our 2 boys (ages 8 and 10) to blow off steam and play safely in the extensive grounds, nearly all visible from the house. The house is charming and comfortable, well equipped including reliable wifi and washer and dryer. Less than 10 minutes drive to Portreath beach, which we loved, and about the same to nearby Redruth and Poole for all shops and amenities that we could want. Lots to visit nearby including great food options. Be aware that access is via an unmade road and involves navigating a small ford. We had no issues with this, but could be daunting for less confident drivers or low clearance cars....

Mr Fischer September 2024
Dalgover Farmhouse is amazing and met all our needs and exceeded our expectations. We had booked a week and we liked the house and the surrounding area so much that we spontaneously extended our stay for another 2 days. The booking process went smoothly. Leevi, our dog, loved the huge garden around the house where he could run around and play with us. The spacious and modern kitchen has everything you need for cooking. The cozy living rooms are perfect for enjoying a glass of wine in front of the warm fireplace at the end of the day. In general, Dalgover Farmhouse is a place where you can feel good and the silence at night allows you to sleep well and dream sweetly. ...
