Beacon Hill Barn is extremely comfortable with everything one needs whilst on holiday. The views from the property are lovely and the peace and quiet is so welcome. The hosts, Hugo and Jo, are attentive but not intruding and the lemon drizzle cake and marmalade are delicious. Whilst in West Sussex we visit as many gardens as possible within about one hour's drive. (Rhododendron and Azalea time.) We recommend Petworth House and Park, Leonardslee Gardens, Ramster Gardens, West Dean (and next to that the Weald and Downland living museum), Denmans, Roman Palace, Chawton House and Garden and last but not least, Gilbert White's House and Garden. We had never been to the latter 2 before and we we liked them both very much. The weather was not as warm as last year but Beacon Hill Barn is very cosy!...

Brilliant! Thank you to Hugo and Jo who made us feel very welcome. Beacon Hill Barn is in a wonderful location, very quiet with lovely views - fields, Downs, wildlife (especially birds, we had an amazing display for a whole afternoon by 5 red kites just in front of the house). We were there with our disabled daughter and it all worked so well for her. Very comfortable and practical accommodation (very special original paintings on walls too, an unexpected treat). Very well placed for Downland walks direct from the house, lovely local pubs and in an area with so many interesting places to visit nearby. Lovely hosts, we also found a delicious home baked cake witing for us on arrival much appreciated. Absolutely would recommend!...

This cottage is an absolute delight. Set below the Downs, wonderfully peaceful, yet within easy reach of all sorts. I had a marvellous six days there, the cottage beautiful inside and out, and lemon drizzle cake waiting to be taken out to the deck area and consumed with tea. I loved being able to look up at the night sky with no light pollution, though you do have to wait for the courtesy lights to go off! The cottage was very comfortable, beautifully decorated throughout and with lovely big windows and patio doors the views are stunning. Morning mist over the field at sunrise was a particular pleasure. Definitely worth a second visit....

Fabulous break in a beautiful location - so handy for long walks, cycle rides and generally getting out and about. We didn't realise that the barn, which was very comfortable and well equipped, is in an International Dark Sky Reserve, definitely an unexpected bonus! The hosts made us feel very welcome and Jo's lemon drizzle cake was delicious! There were lots of nice places to eat very close by and The Weald and Downland Museum is well worth a visit. Highly recommended for a very relaxing break in the countryside! ...
