Mrs Kennard May 2025

The Old Dairy is an excellent property. Immaculately clean and comfortable, we felt relaxed and at home immediately. This has become our new benchmark standard for holiday accommodation. Despite being near the main road it seemed peaceful and the views from the garden are beautiful. We loved seeing the cows in the field behind the property, especially the babies. We enjoyed seeing two Red Kites flying above the field, also the swallows flitting around. A good base for exploring, we visited Kingston Lacy, Corfe Castle and the steam railway to Swanage, Wimborne, Athelhampton, RSPB Arne and a couple of visits to Aunt Fanny’s Farm Shop and cafe which serves excellent food. A perfect holiday....

We appreciated the lovely treats on arrival. The cottage was fitted out and furnished to a high standard. The beds were extremely comfortable and the outside yard was nice for our morning coffee. We enjoyed being introduced to the rare breed livestock by Louisa and her family....

The cottage was really good and we were given such a warm welcome both before and during our stay. We had no issues with the log burner it was simply a matter of reading the instructions properly!!

This is our second visit and we will definitely return again. This is a great base and the accommodation is luxurious. We were lucky enough to be there to see the baby goats and twin calves which was the highlight of our stay. Thank you to the owners for another wonderful stay. ...

Beautifully decorated barn with great connections to the rest of Dorset. We visited as a family of 3 with a 6yr old. Lovely surroundings with the interesting Knowlton Church and earthworks just a short walk. Outside space is really nice in the morning or evening to watch the swallows or the sunset. The barn is on a fast road as others have said. You can hear it if you listen for it, but this didn't bother us. If you are a light sleeper and are easily woken by the sun, take an eye mask as one of the bedrooms gets very bright early, the other stays dark. We found getting around really simple. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of small country roads but every direction we chose to go in was easily accesible on main roads. We visited Lulworth cove and Durdle door, Kingston Lacy etc. Supermarkets a few miles away. We left feeling that there was much more we would have liked to see. ...
