The approach to Leat Mill Cottage is over the small bridge and down beside the river.
This is the lane down to the river and the cottages beyond. A short walk along here takes you into the main village.
Locally known for excellent food is the Arundell Arms in the village, a bit of a hill to get to it but downhill all the way home.

Within walking distance is a good pub.

We were delighted to be welcomed with a Devon cream tea and a cosy lit log burner after a long drive. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and have thought of everything with lots of little touches like Easter decorations and freshly cut flowers. We enjoyed our stay at Leat Mill Cottage, Lifton just off the A30. Pretty surroundings with plenty of walks around about. Close to a couple of decent places to eat, both within walking distance. Award winning farm shop Strawberry fields not far either. Launceston & Tavistock close by. The cottage has comfortable furniture which isn’t always the case. Same with beds! The kitchen is well equipped. There’s a log burner supplied with plenty of wood & central heating which wasn’t complicated to operate! Nice little garden and area to hang your washing out. I would describe Leat Mill cottage as ‘home from home’. So go equipped with slippers and take those mucky boots off because you don’t want to mark the comfortable carpet underfoot!! Settle down in front of the cosy log burner and enjoy your stay. We did....

Leat Mill Cottage is the place to stay if you hanker after peace and quiet but want easy access to places of interest. The hosts are excellent and the cottage comfortable. Thank you Liz for the delicious cream tea! For those people with tablets and/or mobiles, please note you will need plugs with usb portals to charge your devices. There are plenty of places of interest to visit no more than one hours' drive away. For arty people who also like excellent tea/coffee and cakes we suggest Coby's cafe and art supplies shop at Fletchersbridge. One mile from Lanhydrock. If visiting Bude between middle of July to end of August we strongly recommend the Park and Ride. We very much enjoyed Hotel Endsleigh gardens and were able to use BBC Gardeners' World 2 for 1 card. ...

Leat Mill Cottage is the perfect holiday home. Set in a private location, it is very peaceful but within easy reach of Lifton with a shop and an excellent hotel/restaurant.
