The approach to Leat Mill Cottage is over the small bridge and down beside the river.
This is the lane down to the river and the cottages beyond. A short walk along here takes you into the main village.
Locally known for excellent food is the Arundell Arms in the village, a bit of a hill to get to it but downhill all the way home.

Within walking distance is a good pub.

We enjoyed our stay at Leat Mill Cottage, Lifton just off the A30. Pretty surroundings with plenty of walks around about. Close to a couple of decent places to eat, both within walking distance. Award winning farm shop Strawberry fields not far either. Launceston & Tavistock close by. The cottage has comfortable furniture which isn’t always the case. Same with beds! The kitchen is well equipped. There’s a log burner supplied with plenty of wood & central heating which wasn’t complicated to operate! Nice little garden and area to hang your washing out. I would describe Leat Mill cottage as ‘home from home’. So go equipped with slippers and take those mucky boots off because you don’t want to mark the comfortable carpet underfoot!! Settle down in front of the cosy log burner and enjoy your stay. We did....

Leat Mill Cottage is the perfect holiday home. Set in a private location, it is very peaceful but within easy reach of Lifton with a shop and an excellent hotel/restaurant. We had everything we needed in the very comfortable property and it was an excellent base for us to explore east Cornwall. We would highly recommend it to others. ...

We spent a very happy week at Leat Mill Cottage. The cream tea, which was waiting for us when we arrived, was so welcome! The cottage was in a lovely setting with the river close by and nice walks from the door; the bird feeders in the garden attracted a wonderful variety of birds. The cottage was very clean, well equipped, really tranquil and the coast and many interesting places were very easy to reach. Sandymouth beach was a great discovery. Tavistock is a lovely town with lots of independent shops and the Pannier Market. From there it's a short drive onto Dartmoor and Cotehele and Buckland Abbey National Trust properties are not far away either. Highly recommend. Thank you for a great holiday!...
