Old Bembridge House

What a fantastic location this property has in Bembridge! It’s just a street away from the beach and only a 7-minute walk from the beautiful, quaint village. I absolutely loved how self-sufficient the village is and how supportive everyone is of the local shops. We got chatting to a local who told us the property used to be a hotel, and it really does have everything you could need. It’s extremely well equipped, with plenty of glasses, plates, kitchen essentials, etc. A particularly lovely touch was the local milk, bread and eggs left for us on arrival - both were absolutely wonderful! The people at Classic were wonderful throughout. One member of our party has mobility issues, so having a toilet on the ground floor was fantastic, as was the walk-in shower in their upstairs bedroom. The bedroom at the very top of the house was also a perfect fit for a 5ft 5in female. There’s another bathroom on the landing next to the front bedroom, with a large bath and shower. And I have to mention the showers - they were all fantastic (and I’m very picky when it comes to showers!). The garden is extremely small and we had brought a dog, but honestly, it didn’t matter at all. You are SO close to both the beach and the village - and I really can’t emphasise enough just how close you are - that we simply didn’t need a large garden. The property itself is beautifully laid out and has so many lovely little nods to Bembridge throughout, which I really enjoyed. My only tiny niggle (and it really was tiny!) was that the door handles twist the opposite way to what you might expect. On a couple of the doors with beading, this meant catching your knuckle on the side of the door. It certainly didn’t detract from our stay, though. Overall, we absolutely loved our time here. I would highly recommend both the property and Bembridge itself. It’s a beautiful village, the location is unbeatable, and the property has everything you need for a really comfortable and enjoyable stay....

We absolutely loved Old Bembridge House. Perfectly situated just a short walk from the village centre and beach so everything you need is close at hand. Fabulous kitchen, cosy sitting room and very comfortable beds, thoroughly recommend.

This is a beautiful house in the perfect location. Our children loved the two minute pop to the beach. We enjoyed visiting ‘The Point’ bar and just love spending lots of time on the beach. This was our second visit and we will certainly be back.

We enjoyed a fabulous week in Old Bembridge House with the added bonus of wonderful weather. The location is fantastic and the house is very comfortable, well equipped, and finished to a high standard. The outside seating area is small but with the beach and the village so nearby this didn't matter. The fact that it is pet friendly is a definite bonus. We definitely hope to return, Bembridge is our happy place!...

Great location. House is very clean and comfortable (could do with a broom and more than 3 dishwasher tablets for a week) and it was lovely and cool during the hot weather. However, the patio was in a dreadful state. The plants were all dead and dead leaves littered the astroturf. Also cobwebs on all the patio fence “furniture”. Not at all a pleasant place to sit, and not at all as advertised. Complained to Classic Cottages, nothing done to rectify while we were there....
