Agatha Cottage is beautifully appointed, very well-presented and extremely comfortable. It is a lovely place to stay and we hope to return at some point in the future. Our host Sam was very helpful and welcoming. Her recommendations of places to visit or to eat were excellent and she provides a great deal of useful local information which all contributes to a very enjoyable stay. The cottage is very well-situated in terms of location. We highly recommend the walk to Greenway through the woodland and having explored the house and gardens, it is well worth taking the ferry from the quay to Dittisham for a delicious lunch at the Anchorstone Cafe. We also highly recommend Coleton Fishacre (NT) which is a short drive away but is a wonderful place to visit and the gardens and view to the sea are absolutely stunning. Totnes, Brixham, Kingswear and Dartmouth (via the ferry) are well-worth a visit and are all within easy reach as are lots of other delightful local villages such as Stoke Gabriel....

We had a lovely break at Agatha Cottage enjoying good weather and lots of walking from the doorstep and with the ferries to get around we didn't always need the car. In an edge of village location within the resident community and a hop skip to the welcoming local pub which serves tasty food it was an ideal position. Early April is a beautiful time to visit and it was primrose heaven in South Devon. We particularly enjoyed the gardens at Greenway and Coleton Fishacre. They are stunning. Totness is a delightfully quirky town, great shops and we would recommend Canteen for lunch. Next to the library the food is delicious with great service. After our days exploring we returned to the comfort of the cottage which has all you will need, stylishly decorated and with very comfortable furnishings. Personal contact with Sam the owner was appreciated and she made sure we knew she was on the other end of the phone were we to need anything. ...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Agatha Cottage. It is a beautifully appointed property, with every comfort thought of. Sam the owner was thoughtful and helpful, leaving plenty of information about where to visit, walk and eat in the area. There is so much to see and do here with Greenway, Agatha Christie 's home just down the road by the river Dart, coastal walks and the nearby towns of Brixham, Kingwear and Dartmouth all within easy reach. We would certainly return. ...

It is a rare thing to find that a cottage is more warm and welcoming than expected. From the first communication with Sam though to our departure we could not have been happier. When we arrived the cottage was warm and illuminated. Once inside we found a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge, a tea tray and chocolate biscuits set out ready to enjoy and in the living area a bowl of roses - making us feel right at home. The cottage has been beautiful re-imagined providing comfort and warmth along with every amenity you could wish for. I particularly enjoyed the Nespresso Coffee maker and the kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to prepare an interesting meal. Upstairs the bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. Both are served by a large and well-appointed bathroom. Outside, there are three sitting areas: two small patios on two different levels in the back and a charming seat out front where you can sit and watch the horse and riders pass by. Agatha Cottage is in a perfect location for exploring whether on foot or by car or bike. The village has a general store/post office and a butcher's shop while the Spar, library, chemist and fish and chip shop are a short walk away. Within in the village the Manor Inn provides a great warm welcomed is a great place to meet people. What a find! I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. Thank you Sam for making this home available and for looking after us so well....

Mrs Blandford October 2024
Agatha Cottage underwent a complete refurbishment in 2018 and the result is a beautiful, elegant and very relaxing environment to enjoy a holiday in. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was both hot and powerful. A lot of thought has gone into both decoration and fittings. It is in a perfect location for visiting many of the attractions in the area including Dartmouth, Greenway House and Coleton Fishacre. We found it a little odd (and outside of any previous experience in a holiday cottage) that the heating was controlled remotely by the owner. The hours of heating and temperature were predetermined and not possible to change from the cottage. However, Sam, the owner, was very accommodating when we spoke to her and she set the timer to our requirements. We also had a very generous supply of logs for the log burner which we took full advantage of! A wonderful holiday experience and easy to recommend. ...
