Popplestone is idyllic - beautiful cottage, stunning views, wonderful and welcoming farm dogs and cats, lovely owners - basically one of the best, most relaxing holidays we've ever had.The cottage is full of little extras - definitely one of the best equipped I've ever been to, which added to the comfort and homeliness. Plus the weather - for mid-October - was glorious. The highlight for me was the daily visit by Angus and Dexter, the owner's dogs, who popped in every morning for some fuss and attention, followed by Bumble and Buzz, two beautiful ginger tomcat brothers who loved to play! The location of the cottage was in a part of the country I'd not visited before, and was amazed by the landscape - absolutely stunning. We didn't visit anything like the number of places we meant to, so I think a second visit will have to happen!...
