DoubleTucked away in an historic beachside location, this chic yet characterful semi-detached cottage has been lovingly restored and brought back to life, creating the perfect escape for couples, friends or a small family looking to slow down and soak up the magic of Cornwall's more rural and completely unspoilt coastline.
Stepping in under the porch canopy, you are welcomed into a gorgeous and sociable open plan living, dining and kitchen space. Beautiful furnishings sit effortlessly alongside the traditional inglenook fireplace and wood-burner, creating a cosy retreat during the cooler months and a space that invites you to truly unwind. The modern kitchen has been thoughtfully equipped with everything you will need for your stay.
Take care on the narrow staircase and upstairs you will find two beautiful cottage-core bedrooms. Bedroom one is a practical twin, while bedroom two is a comfortable double room. Both have been finished with soft, calming tones, retaining their gorgeous original floorboards and character, and as you drift off to sleep you may hear the sound of the ocean gently lapping the shore in the distance. The brand-new shower-room is beautifully finished in soft shell pinks and calming green tones.
Outside, the back door leads to steep steps which climb to the sun terraces, cleverly built into the cliffside. Here you will find luxurious outdoor dining furniture, perfect for long lazy lunches, along with a comfortable hammock where you can while away the afternoon with a good book. Breathe in the fresh sea air with your morning coffee or simply unwind after a day of adventures, listening to the gentle sounds of this very special village. One of the things locals love most about Porthallow is the incredible birdsong, thanks to the nearby temperate rainforests sitting so close to the ocean's edge.
Babes in arms up to six months and children aged five and over are welcome.
Just a short stroll away lies Porthallow's sheltered beach, where crystal-clear waters, colourful fishing boats and serpentine shingles create an idyllic Cornish scene. Sitting at the halfway point of the South West Coast Path, Porthallow is perfectly placed for spectacular coastal walks in either direction, with hidden coves, dramatic cliffs and breathtaking sea views waiting to be discovered. The village also boasts a welcoming pub serving hearty food just moments from your doorstep, while nearby St Keverne offers a village shop, cafes, and everything you need for a relaxing stay. Fat Apples Cafe, perched at the top of the hill, is a firm favourite with locals for brunch, while Porthkerris Dive Centre is close by for those looking to book an underwater adventure.
Venture a little further to explore the wild beauty of the Lizard peninsula, from the turquoise waters of Kynance Cove to the picturesque harbour at Coverack and the tranquil, oak-lined creeks of the Helford River. Why not hire a boat from Sailaway at St Anthony and discover this spectacular stretch of coastline from the water.
