Wick Village is beautifully tucked away between the River Avon and the Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve.
Views over the Avon to Christchurch Priory - both are short walks from the cottage or perhaps take the Wick Ferry (just a few minutes' walk).
The beaches of Hengistbury Head are some of the best and least known in Dorset.
Bournemouth with its miles of golden sands and famous pier is just a short drive away.
The New Forest is just a short drive...
Try a walk up over Hengistbury Head to see the colourful beach huts and beaches of Mudeford.
A visit to the historic Christchurch Priory and a walk along the river is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Zip and linkLavender Cottage is a delightful two bedroom home with open plan living areas and wonderful outdoor space. Set in the exclusive Wick Village it is just a short walk from one of Dorset's most famous locations - Hengistbury Head with its Nature Reserve and wonderful quiet beaches.
Perfect for families, walkers, nature lovers and adult groups (plus your four-legged friends) the semmi-detached cottage is also within easy reach of Christchurch, the New Forest and Bournemouth.
Entering the cottage from the quiet cul de sac you will find a lovely blend of original features as well as well proportioned living spaces and bedrooms.
The open plan living areas feature a large dining space, perfect for some social feasting, before leading you into the lovely spacious sitting-area and finally into the striking snug/sun-room which looks out over the garden. It all has a wonderfully cosy feel, and you will feel very at home here.
Off the hallway you have the well-equipped galley kitchen, perfect for cooking up a storm, as well as a handy utility-room and WC.
As you head up the lovely, restored staircase you will find the first floor to be bright and spacious with two large bedrooms, one featuring a super-king bed and the other a king (both can be split into singles on request). The rear bedroom has a lovely aspect over the garden, and the front has some striking views over towards Christchurch and the Nature Reserve. The cottage is very quiet, and the bedrooms have a very peaceful feel.
Completing the first floor is a large family bathroom and separate WC.
The outside space is peaceful and enclosed, with a lawn and patio area, perfect for some al fresco dining and enjoying those long summer evenings.
With so many of Dorset's main attractions nearby there is no doubt you will want to get out and explore…The River Stour is just a short walk away but perhaps most notably is Hengistbury Head with its wonderful Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre and if you fancy taking the fabulous walk over the head you will find yourself on the desirable Mudeford Spit with its stunning beaches and luxury beach huts. A five minute drive takes you into Christchurch with its shopping and its fabled 11th Century priory. A further 10 minutes will get you to the picturesque New Forest as well as Bournemouth with its nine miles of golden sandy beaches.
