We have stayed at both the Cow Shed and the Threshing Barn, its sister cottage in the same area, on our numerous visits back to Devon to visit my husband’s family and have always had wonderful experiences in these properties! Exbourne is a lovely village and we feel quite at home! I would highly recommend them! The Cowshed is such a lovely cottage in a beautiful peaceful location. We have stayed here twice now with our dogs and absolutely loved it both times and can't wait to return again! The meadow out the front, and the view is just stunning. Beware the local lanes are very narrow in places! and the pub in the village doesn't serve food, but the village post office and stores is community run and very welcoming, serving food and essentials. Richard is a lovely host, very laid back, but on hand should you need him. ...

The Cowshed is an amazing holiday cottage. From the moment we arrived we felt completely relaxed, and the outside space is just stunning with far reaching views and peaceful surroundings. Lots to see especially enjoyed watching the nesting sparrows and swifts. The courtyard is enclosed for the dogs, and having the meadow to run around in was brilliant. Richard and his mum were really friendly and helpful, with lots of local knowledge and advice for walks and places to visit. The pub up the lane served excellent beer and cider and locals very welcoming and quite an experience! The community shop opposite stocked essentials and had small cafe. Beautiful cake on arrival made by a lady in the village was lovely. We cannot wait to return - especially the dogs!! Thank you for amazing stay!...
