Tucked away in a quiet gated community only steps from the pretty centre of the market town of Helmsley, sits No 9, a pretty two-storey cottage surrounded by beech hedging and with a delightful garden. Helmsley itself lies within a conservation area and the buildings are mainly built of local cream and honey-coloured stone. This charming two bedroomed terraced cottage is an ideal spot for couples or families to soak up the town's atmosphere. A short stroll from No 9 you will find a plethora of independent shops, restaurants, galleries and even a castle. There are two Michelin starred restaurants close by.

Step into this cosy and stylish cottage to find a welcoming open plan living area. Steeped in contemporary cottage-style your first impression will be one of quiet comfort. The wood-burner and large sofas invite you in and encourage you to sit and relax awhile, maybe with a good book or with friends and family to plan tomorrow's adventures. French doors let the sunlight in and open up to the garden. The kitchen-area looks out over the beech hedge, blazing bronze in the autumn sun or green and vibrant in the summer months. The chef can whip up a meal in the perfectly equipped kitchen whilst still enjoying everyone's company sitting at the large island. The compact dining-area is the perfect place to enjoy the fruits of the chef's labour or step outside onto the patio and dine in the light of the setting sun.

The first floor has a useful snug with games and a desk, it even has its own shower-room. The bedrooms are on the first and second floor, have luxury en suites and the beds are adorned with crisp white linen and snuggly duvets.

Outdoors the garden has a lawn and a patio and is quiet and peaceful, a lovely spot to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of your favourite tipple.

Helmsley is known as the jewel in Yorkshire's crown and is the only market town on the North York Moors. Food lovers will be entertained for days with the plethora of eateries, microbrewery, cafes and restaurants. Helmsley Castle sits above the town and is an interesting visit as is the Helmsley walled garden with its Vinehouse Cafe. The Star Inn at Harome and The Black Swan at Oldstead both have Michelin stars and The Abbey Inn at has been voted the best Sunday Lunch in Yorkshire.

Duncombe Park is on the outskirts of the town and houses the National Centre for Birds of Prey. The market square is a place where locals and visitors alike meet and you are likely to find yourself having a chat with a Helmsley resident. Walkers and cyclists just love Helmsley, you can attempt the Cleveland Way from here and cycle routes are many and varied, follow the Tour de Yorkshire route to really challenge yourself.

The Dales town of Thirsk is only a 13 mile drive away down the famous Sutton Bank, where you will be able to explore the James Herriott Museum, a must for fans of the world-famous vet. If you are a history buff, then the historic city of York will be right up your street.

If you yearn for the sand between your toes, the coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough are within easy reach.

The North Yorks Moors are on the edge of Helmsley, there are magnificent views, pretty villages and Yorkshire pubs such as the Lion which embodies an old fashioned traditional Yorkshire.

There is so much to do, you will be spoilt for choice.
