The beaches along the Jurassic Coast have dog friendly areas all year round, and restrictions are then lifted after September.
There are many historical houses to visit nearby, such as Montacute House.

We had a fantastic stay at the Pump House for our honeymoon in April. It was a beautiful cottage, with a lovely, peaceful and private garden which we enjoyed as we don’t have a garden of our own. We were also allowed access to the gardens and tennis court belonging to the Manor House which was brilliant! The personal touches made it extra special and the host, Judith, had clearly gone to a lot of effort to make us feel at home. Judith came to check we had settled in okay (at a distance) and made sure we knew where she was if we needed anything but then left us to it which was great. We would love to stay at the Pump House again in the future. Thank you for making our honeymoon so wonderful!...

An amazing hidden gem tucked away in the countryside. The Manor Farm House grounds are just stunning, bringing wildlife to your doorstep. Judith is so friendly and accomdating, the little touches of doggy treats, afternoon tea, and fresh local produce for breakfast were very welcome. We had a fabulous time....

Our stay at the Pump House was lovely from start to finish. It was in a secluded setting with walks and farm shop nearby. Also in easy reach of places to visit. Judith was very welcoming and the dog friendly touches showed us that our four legged friend was welcome. The scones and breakfast goodies were a lovely touch and enjoyed. Having breakfast whilst watching the birds, squirrels and rabbits run about was lovely. Will definitely return again. ...

A lovely place to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle. The owner is so thoughtful about everything, even in Corona times. A perfect holiday. We highly recommend the Pump House.
