Immersed in a National Landscape (formerly known as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), just a short stroll from the enchanting, sheltered cove at Cwm yr Eglwys, soak up the sea air, crystal clear waters and far-reaching sea views from this stylish, well-appointed, dog-friendly accommodation at Pen yr Onen. Ideal for families and friends wishing to explore this spellbinding corner of Pembrokeshire.

The perfect holiday awaits beach lovers, wild sea swimmers, intrepid rock pool searchers, surf splashers or sandcastle builders and walkers with access to the coast path nearby, or those seeking an idyllic peaceful getaway. Nestling slightly above the picturesque hamlet in a private, tranquil location, with far-reaching coastal views of the ever-changing sea and dramatic coastline, spend time in the sunny garden surrounded by woodland or relax on the raised patios taking in the views, which encompass the beach and derelict St Brynach's Church on the sea front, the rest was washed away by the great storm of 1859.

Light and airy, this spacious, ground floor apartment, with calming pastel hues and comfort, provides the perfect space for a seaside holiday. From the sitting-room, sink into the deep, luxurious sofa and gaze out to sea after the perfect beach day. The holiday chef will find everything needed for some sumptuous cooking in the well-equipped kitchen. Gather around the dining-table for leisurely meals, taking in the stunning views, or on rainy days enjoy board games or crafting. There's a useful second shower for use after the beach in the utility-room, which also houses the washing machine and tumble-drier. Peaceful nights are promised in the hushed bedrooms, conveniently located near the family bathroom. You can choose to soak in a luxurious bath or maybe you prefer a shower. Later in the day, from the raised terrace, watch the magnificent sunsets, enjoying a sundowner under the clear, starry skies.

The hamlet and the beach sit between Newport and Fishguard on the north Pembrokeshire coast. From Pen yr Onen, take the walk around Dinas Head, which has been voted an AA Walk of the Year, or wander through the pretty woodland behind the headland to another beach, Pwllgwaelod, just half a mile away. Enjoy fish and chips at the Old Sailors Pub, which sits right on the beach.

There is parking for one car in an allocated space in the nearby car park (you can stop temporarily to unload luggage on the road which runs below the property). A parking permit is available at the property for a second car parking space, at a cost of £5 per day.

Nearby Dinas Cross has two pubs, a service station with a well-stocked shop and a fish and chip shop. The village has a play park for children. A short drive takes you to the seaside market town of Newport, steeped in history and character, with a selection of good eateries, shops, galleries and farmer's market.

Scenic Newport Parrog is well worth a visit and a great place for boating. Castles are waiting to be explored, along with Welsh woollen mills, craft centres and pretty seaside villages, or clamber up Carn Ingli (Angel Mountain). The Iron Age settlement at Castell Henllys is a great day out or the Shire Horse Farm at Eglwyswrw.

For a memorable day, take a dolphin spotting boat trip from New Quay near Cardigan or visit the mystical small city of St David's with its magnificent cathedral. Not far away is the historic town of Fishguard and Goodwick Parrog. Children love the park here which leads directly to the beach.

Along this dramatic coastline are many beaches to explore. Pack a picnic and spend a sunny day on Whitesands, near St Davids and a surfer's paradise, as is Newgale, where children and the dog will love playing in the endless golden sand.

Whatever the weather, a memorable holiday awaits. Sunny beach days and fun day trips, or bracing winter beach walks and country pubs with roaring log fires, a wonderful holiday is calling.
