A great place for lunch
We visited the Rose and Crown for lunch, when spending the day in and around Goodwick and Fishguard. A varied menu, excellent food and great staff, we would certainly recommend it.
Nearby beach
A quiet secluded beach best reached via the coastal path. The beach is mainly shingle and pebble and is great for rock pooling. Due to it's location the area is seldom busy and dogs are allowed year round. Parking is available at Strumble Head, a 20 minute walk away.
Nearby walk
Park in the small car park to the east of Garn Fawr and enjoy this scenic trek following tracks and paths. With breathtaking landscapes and stunning views this 7 mile walk is well worth the effort. Take a look at the link to our friends at Walking Britain for directions.

This small seaside town lies to the West of Fishguard in the heart of North Pembrokeshire. Enjoy the natural surrounding beauty of the Preseli Hills and glorious sandy beaches on your doorstep. You'll also find a picturesque harbour and family run shops and cafes.

Lovely Seafood Bistro
Great food in a really atmospheric location amongst the old brickworks in Porthgain Harbour. The fresh fish was lovely including cod cheeks and calamari for starters then haddock and chips, turbot and bouillabaisse for mains. Puddings were also lovely if you have room. Book ahead online.

The fish and chips were excellent, as was the coffee and the service. Very welcome after a walk along the coastal path.
Would definitely recommend.
Situated on the coast path between Fishguard and St Davids, this traditional pub is open daily and an ideal place to stop for refreshments. Food is locally sourced, including locally caught fish and daily specials are available. Booking is adviseable.

Pretty location. Food was ok but some could have been hotter. No tabs - all must be paid when ordering.
An old smugglers pub situated on the beach and the ideal spot for refreshments whether you are spending the day locally or walking the coast path. With lots of outdoor seating it's the perfect place to soak up the summer sun.

Gorgeous spot to enjoy a drink
We ate at the Sailor's Safety during our week's stay on the headland and had a few drinks on the days we spent on that stretch of beach. Really friendly staff and beautiful grounds to sit in. There was live music one evening and the whole space felt welcoming and homely.

Nice pub, short walk from our accommodation. Limited opening hours. Sunday roast good value - beef a bit tough and fatty. Staff pleasant.

The Old Sailors.
A great place for a drink and a bite to eat after completing the Dinas headland walk. Always found the staff friendly and helpful. Pros. Dogs must be kept on a lead in pub and the garden. Cons. Cannot always depend on the opening hours.

Lovely location
Opening times for food are very hit and miss but very enjoyable once tbere
A small pretty cove with a pebbly beach and views over the Irish Sea. Its remote location make it a quiet spot and dogs are allowed year round. Access through a wooded valley with limited parking on a nearby lane.
Owned by the same family since 1912, this working mill is still weaving today and you can visit the millshop and cafe daily.
