If you want a cottage quietly situated in Boscastle but within two hundred yards of local pubs, restaurants and shops, then The Shippen is ideal for you.

From the patio and terraced garden, 20 feet up and set well back from the harbour road, panoramic views can be enjoyed - of the harbour to the left, sweeping across the Valency ravine to the village, and Valency Valley with its Thomas Hardy connections, to the right - a splendid spot to enjoy breakfast and watch the world go by below.

The Shippen is a cosy and comfortable mid-terraced cottage which is accessed up steep exterior steps to make the best of the location and is a great retreat all year round.

The open plan living-room has a beamed ceiling and open-tread, narrow stairs lead up to the bedrooms, both with sloping ceilings and low beams.

Boscastle is a terrific village, with a great choice of places to eat and drink, a small selection of shops and beautiful clifftop walks to discover.

The nearby village of Tintagel will delight historians, with the castle said to be the birth place of King Arthur and if you fancy a day at the seaside, this stretch of coastline has a great selection of beaches.
