For scenery-packed coastal walks, exploring fishing villages and historic harbours, as well as fun days on some fabulous beaches, this idyllic haven is just the ticket for a great holiday in north Cornwall. Perfectly situated to enjoy peace and tranquility to your heart's content, yet only a short stroll down to Boscastle's picturesque harbour and village centre, an escape at Riverwood will leave you feeling rested, relaxed and re-energised.

Reversed level accommodation is the order of the day making the most of the glorious setting, capturing the views of Boscastle's Jordan Vale and the river as it tumbles past at the bottom of the garden.

Inside the spacious interiors are wonderfully light and airy, offering plenty of room for everyone to spread out and as well as, most importantly spending much-needed time together. The three bedrooms are set on the ground floor, along with a second small kitchen area/utility-room, perfect when you want to brew up that wake-me cuppa or evening hot toddy. From here you can access the beautiful, terraced garden, with steps leading to the different levels. There's a choice of places to sit out to indulge in sunshine breakfasts and sunset suppers or simply lose yourself in the pages of a good book.

Located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as a National Landscape), you are surrounded by the most dramatic scenery that beckons you out each day to explore. Head down into the heart of the village to browse the shops and galleries, perhaps picking up a piece of Boscastle pottery as a souvenir to take back home with you. There's a great choice of places to eat out serving everything from a luscious ice cream, a hearty Cornish pasty, to the freshest of seafood or take the hike over to the farm shop and cafe and reward yourself with some wonderful delights whilst taking in the most breathtaking view.

To help you work up an appetite, this area is blessed with great walks, whether along the coastal path, across open countryside or through wooded river valleys. Take a trip to Tintagel to visit The Old Post Office (National Trust) or the legendary home of King Arthur, Tintagel Castle (English Heritage) and on the way back call by Tintagel Brewery to try some local ale. Surf's up at Trebarwith Strand and beachside picnics and rock pooling are the order of the day at Crackington Haven.
