In prime position overlooking St Mawes Bay with wonderful seascape views, beautiful interiors and gorgeous contemporary furnishings, semi-detached Port and Starboard is a fabulous holiday home situated just a minute’s stroll away from the harbourside and simply perfect for a family holiday or a getaway with friends. From the moment you arrive at your holiday destination you will be enchanted. Port and Starboard sits in the heart of the village with gorgeous views from the front elevation and is reached by a footpath to the front with parking for one car to the rear. Originally two traditional cottages, the owners have cleverly combined both into one stylish holiday home, leaving the two front doors in place, so you can choose to enter the ground floor living space by either the port or starboard door!

Combining contemporary and modern with a seaside twist, the living space is wonderfully welcoming. There’s a separate dining-room, ideal for family get togethers (please note, the wood-burner in the dining-room is ornamental and not for guests' use) and a cosy sitting-room with super comfy sofas and a wood-burner to warm your toes throughout the seasons. Both rooms have large bay windows and cushioned window seats where you can sit from dawn until dusk taking in the blissful views across the bay and harbour. The kitchen to the rear is really rather special and has all the equipment you’ll need including a Nespresso coffee machine and a double electric range cooker to impress even the most discerning chef! The separate utility-room has a handy washing machine and tumble-drier along with the fridge/freezer. You will also find a shower-room on the ground floor, ideal for rinsing salty toes after a beach day. Both the kitchen and utility-room have a large service hatch to help with food service and there is also plenty of storage space for your wellies and wetsuits.

Two staircases lead to the first floor, one to the left and one to the right – keeping in line with the port and starboard theme! On both sides a family bathroom is located part-way up the stairs where they turn, each having a bath with an overhead shower, ideal for a refreshing shower after a busy day exploring. Four tranquil double bedrooms are located on the first floor, the two to the front having 'zip and link' beds so you can choose either twin beds or a super-king double, and the rooms to the rear having king-size beds. The front bedrooms have wonderful views from perfectly positioned bay windows, just the spot for morning coffee, a quiet read or just to gaze at the ebb and flow of the tide. If work should call, there is a handy study on the first floor, and this room is also suitable for a travel cot.

Outside the kitchen two sets of steep steps lead up to the secluded terrace and parking-area. Please be mindful of the steps and supervise children at all times. The terrace is home to two comfy garden sofas for relaxing in the Cornish sunshine with far reaching sea views across the rooftops, the perfect spot for a sundowner! There is also a handy outside shower, ideal for after that early morning swim and rinsing sandy toes and wetsuits.

St Mawes is a charming village, known as the jewel of the Roseland Peninsula, with everything you need for a Cornish getaway. From Port and Starboard a short, narrow and steep road leads to the seafront with the harbour just around the corner. From here you can take the passenger ferry across the Carrick Roads for a day discovering the delights of the maritime town of Falmouth (the National Maritime Museum is a must-see) or take a smaller ferry boat to the tranquil cove at Place, a great place to explore the coast path. Closer to home, paddle boards and kayaks can be hired from the harbourside, a great way to explore the many coves and inlets close by, or perhaps just sit on the beach and enjoy the peace and tranquility - it’s what a Cornish holiday is all about!

St Mawes has a great selection of places to eat too. For fine dining in elegant surroundings head to Hotel Tresanton, which is owned by Olga Polizzi, so you know it will be quite special, or perhaps just enjoy your fish and chips from the paper on the harbour wall watching the water world go by. Pendower Farm Shop is a short drive away, ideal for stocking up on Cornish produce including home-reared meats, fish, vegetables and seasonal goods. A holiday in St Mawes could easily be car-free, but if you do decide to take the car out there’s plenty to see and do in the area. Horticulturists will be spoilt for choice with Trebah, Trelissick, Durgan and the Lost Gardens of Heligan to choose from.

However you decide to spend your precious holiday time, Port and Starboard is the perfect place to make happy holiday memories.
