Super-king

This stunning barn located on the edge of the Cotswolds is a gem of a property just waiting to be discovered. Sympathetically converted with nods to its previous life as a working barn, step through the doorway between the stable shutters into this luxuriously comfortable and welcoming property for two. Open plan living at its best with original beams lovingly restored and everything you could need whilst on holiday in this beautiful part of the country.

Whether here for the scenery, a special family occasion or celebration or just wanting to get away from it all for a few days, Weighbridge End will not disappoint. Welcoming, well designed by the lovely owners who live next door and with a touch of Scandinavian style, feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Take a seat on the chaise sofa with a good book or watch the cook prepare a tasty dinner. Pull up a chair on the outside terrace, the perfect spot for a drink before dinner on a warm evening and simply take time to enjoy the peace and quiet this village location offers.

When it's time for bed, head to your super-king size bedroom to slip under the comfy covers, sink into the pillow and relax, it's lights out until sunrise. Awake refreshed and after an invigorating shower in your en suite shower-room, pour yourself a much-needed cuppa and make your leisurely plans for the day ahead.

For those who like their food, this area does not disappoint and you will be spoiled for choice. If you like to cook, take a short drive to one of the local farm shops for fresh produce and return to base to rustle up a tasty feast, combined with the oven, the two ring hob is all you need, there's a handy dishwasher too if the washing up is a step too far.

This lovely location is shared by a neighbouring property, Stable End. Book the two barns together for friends and family and receive a 10% discount, on arrival open up the interconnecting sound proof door (cleverly hidden behind a wall hanging) and enjoy lots of quality time together.

Grittleton is a picturesque Wiltshire village situated on the edge of the Cotswolds and is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, now known as a National Landscape. Both ancient and unspoiled, the Grittleton Estate was formally owned by the Neeld family with one of the most notable buildings in the village being Grittleton House. Formerly an independent school, then a family home, it is now a wedding and event venue.

The village has a history dating back for many centuries and lies near to the Fosse Way, a Roman road, and boasts an excellent village pub, The Neeld Arms - this 17th Century country inn boasts roaring log fires in the winter and has areas to eat outside in the summer. Alternatively, the award-winning Salutation Inn at The Gibb is on the edge of the parish of Castle Combe and well worth a visit.

As locations go, Grittleton is the perfect base to explore a wide variety of attractions including the many pretty villages in the Cotswolds. An eight minute drive takes you to the pretty village of Castle Combe - famously dubbed as a film maker's paradise the village has featured on the big screen in many films including War Horse, Dr Dolittle and Stardust. Look out for the cottages selling home-made cake outside their doors and the nearby hamlet of Tiddleywink too!

For those needing a bit of retail therapy, the cosmopolitan city of Bath is just 15 miles away and is a shopper's paradise, with its unbeatable choice of independent retailers selling tempting one-of-a-kind items. For the culture vulture there is an impressive array of museums and galleries to choose from. Let's not forget the ancient Roman Spa - a must see visit, or why not spoil yourself in the luxurious facilities at the modern Thermae Spa.

Manor House Golf Club, Castle Combe Race Circuit and the famous home of the Badminton Horse Trials and deer park are all within easy reach.
