Kilkhampton is a charming Cornish village, perfectly placed for exploring the delights of north Cornwall and Cobble Cottage is a lovely terraced abode, situated in a quiet courtyard opposite the village square with tea rooms, traditional inns and food shops all close at hand as well as a well networked bus route!

Whether you are looking to explore the stunning beaches of Bude just a short drive away, travel further afield to the gorgeous villages of Clovelly and Tintagel or stay closer to home and explore the pretty countryside around Kilkhampton, Cobble Cottage has all you need for a fabulous holiday no matter the season.

Accessed via a passageway from the village square, from the moment you arrive you will be captivated by the charm of Cobble Cottage. The cosy sitting-room has a fabulous feature inglenook fireplace, complete with wood-burner to keep you warm throughout the seasons and a Smart TV for your evening's entertainment. The kitchen/diner is perfect for sociable dining and has all the equipment you will need to create a culinary delight. The ground floor has a reclaimed brick floor with the joy of under-floor heating perfect for keeping your toes warm, and characterful beams throughout.

Stairs with handrail lead to the first floor, please note these are typical of traditional Cornish cottages and are steep. On reaching the top there are additional steps into the bedroom as well as the landing leading to bedrooms two and three and the family bathroom. Bedroom one is a charming, spacious room with comfy king-size bed and iron bedstead that floods with light thanks to the double-aspect windows. Bedroom two is a pretty single room perfect for young or old and offers a peaceful spot to enjoy the holiday read. Bedroom three is the perfect twin ideal for either children or adults. Please note there is a small lip/step up into this room, this bedroom has views out to the front of the cottage. The family bathroom has a lovely hand-made suite with a bath and fitted shower over.

To discover the hidden enclosed garden simply wander down a beautiful path/track where just 90 yards away you will discover the private tranquil garden, perfect for relaxing in your countryside surroundings. A patio area with garden furniture provides a spot for you to fire up the barbecue and enjoy al fresco dining, and the thoughtful owners have created a wildflower area too. There's oodles of space for the children and family dogs to let off steam however please note the summer-house is not for guests' use. On the way down to the garden you will also pass the utility-room for keeping your outdoor gear or beach equipment. It also houses all the barbecue equipment, picnic plates and dishes; the owners have thought of everything.

Situated in a conservation area, Kilkhampton is a quintessential Cornish village with all you need close by including two traditional pubs, tea rooms and village shops. If the chef would like a night off, the fish and chip shop and pizzeria are very convenient and with so many amenities close at hand you may never take your car out and choose to explore the surrounding countryside from your doorstep.

If you do decide to travel further afield, the fabulous north coast is a mere five miles away, where the stunning beaches of Bude await. Surfers should head here to catch the Atlantic rollers and families will adore the sandy beaches and great selection of eclectic shops and eateries. To the north, Hartland is a stunning area to discover with dramatic coastline, lighthouse and pretty village and to the south visit Clovelly, a simply gorgeous harbourside village with steep cobbled streets and beautiful views.

For family fun days head to The Splash swimming pool in Bude for waves, flumes and all the fun of a waterpark, or perhaps visit The Big Sheep Farm and Theme Park where everyone will love getting close up to the farm animals. Dog walkers will be spoilt for choice with a great selection of walks in the area, and of course the stunning coast path. Both the beaches of Sandymouth and Duckpool are dog-friendly so don't forget your tennis ball for a game of catch.
