Chapel Cottage is a simply delightful traditional Cornish cottage situated in the corner of a row of similar properties in an elevated position overlooking beautiful St Mawes and Falmouth Bay. Stylishly furnished to match the nautical location, Chapel Cottage is perfect for a romantic retreat or for family looking to explore this much sought-after part of the Roseland peninsula.

A short flight of ten shared access steps lead up a stone path and turn right past a neighbouring cottage to the front door. A small seating area here offers a stunning view of the bay and St Mawes below, the perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening aperitif. Cosy interiors and a warming wood-burner welcome you into the sitting-room where eye catching detail and pretty coastal ornaments complement the furnishings. And there's a Smart TV to keep everyone entertained after a busy beach day. A foldaway dining-table sits under the window so you can set the table and enjoy the sea view over dinner and fold it away again after to create more space. The kitchen sits at the rear, a beautifully crafted space with all you need to cook a holiday meal, including a Magimix coffee machine and slimline dishwasher. The ground floor areas are traditionally tiled with under-floor heating, ideal if your four-legged friend is joining you on holiday.

Climb the stairs to the first floor (please note the stairs are steep and the ceiling is low here, as is traditional in Cornish cottages) and the main double bedroom is up an additional step to the right. This room is a delight, with its feature king-size wrought iron bedstead and luxury linens you are assured of great night's sleep here. A window seat gives a bird's eye view of the bay, the perfect spot for a quiet read or just gazing out to sea. Along the corridor and up two steps the family bathroom sits in between the bedrooms and here you will find a bath with shower overhead so you can choose either a long soak or a refreshing shower. The twin-bedded room is at the rear of the cottage with comfy beds suitable for either children or adults. A door leads from this bedroom to a gorgeous outside decked area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining and modular seating so you can sit and enjoy the Cornish fresh air throughout the day. What more do you need on your Cornish getaway!

Chapel Cottage is perfectly placed a short stroll away from the vibrant harbourside, beaches and shops in St Mawes village centre, indeed you may never take your car out when you holiday here. There's a great choice of places to eat from fine dining in waterside restaurants to fish and chips from the paper eaten on the harbour wall watching the ebb and flow of the tide: the choice will not disappoint. Families will enjoy beach days on Summers beach, building sandcastles and rock pooling. Kayakers and paddle boarders should head for the hidden coves and quiet beaches whilst walkers enjoy mile upon mile of fabulous coast path exploration.

With a selection of galleries, cafes and grocery shops you may choose never to use your car. For a change of scene catch the passenger ferry from the harbour which will take you across the bay to the maritime town of Falmouth, steeped in history and an interesting place to explore.

A little way up the hill from the village, St Mawes Castle sits proudly overlooking the Carrick Roads and this stunning 15th century artillery fort is well worth a visit.

Portscatho is a charming fishing village just along the coast where you can enjoy coffee and freshly baked pastries overlooking the sea at Tatams, or perhaps wander along the coast path for al fresco dining at the iconic Hidden Hut where guests sit side by side on wooden benches and enjoy the freshest of seafood culinary delights (booking is essential for feast nights)

Should you decide to travel further afield, try The Lost Gardens of Heligan, lost in time and derelict since WWI, the gardens were discovered and restored thirty years ago and are now an oasis of tranquility and peace. The mighty biomes of the Eden Project are also a great place to spend the day. Throughout the year Chapel Cottage is perfectly placed for all your Cornish adventures.
