This two-storey town house is reverse-level to take advantage of the sea glimpses from the first floor and is stylishly decorated with comfort in mind, inviting you to kick back and relax into your holiday.
Up a short flight of steps, open the front door and two spacious double bedrooms await, both with luxury bed linens and plenty of wardrobe space. The family bathroom is conveniently situated in-between, great for a refreshing shower after a day at the beach. One room has the added benefit of an en suite shower-room with walk-in shower and French doors lead on to the pretty secluded patio with outdoor seating, perfect for a morning coffee or evening aperitif, or perhaps gathering the family for a sociable meal.
Take the stairs to the light and airy open plan first floor where cosy sofas in pretty pastel shades of pink and grey await. The living area has been thoughtfully bedecked with some lovely seaside themed decorations and these are evident throughout the house. During cooler months, a warming wood-burner will warm your toes (available from October to March). The dining-room table is well placed for open plan entertaining and a fabulous window seat in the large bay window is a great place to take in the view.
The kitchen is just off the main living area and well-equipped with everything you will need to cook up a holiday feast. The spacious third bedroom leads off the living-room and overlooks the secluded patio area. There is also a convenient, separate WC on this floor.
Although it will be hard to drag yourself away from your lovely holiday home, a short walk away pretty St Mawes beckons. A day spent on fabulous Summers beach will delight both children and adults alike and the harbour is a lovely spot to sit and watch the water world go by with yachts bobbing out to sea. Enjoy fish and chips as fresh as they come, sitting on the sea wall watching paddle boarders and kayaks, or maybe treat yourself in one of the many fine dining establishments.
The bustling town of Falmouth is a short passenger ferry journey away and a day can be spent exploring the delights of the Maritime Museum, Discovery Quay and the many eclectic shops and cafes. Take a picnic and catch the foot ferry to Place Manor, a magical place of secluded coves and you can walk along the coast path from here to the headland with its panoramic views.
A short drive away you can explore the delights of the world-renowned biomes of the Eden Project, or perhaps one of the many beautiful National Trust gardens and houses in the area. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are worth a visit at any time of year and stunning Caerhays Castle should not be missed for its Gothic architecture.
Closer to home, the Roseland peninsula is renowned for its beautiful coastline, fabulous walks and great local produce. Whether you plan to spend sunny days enjoying the many beaches of the south coast or travel further afield to experience the many delights Cornwall has to offer, you are assured of a lovely holiday home to return to at 1 The Brakeyard.
