You have two entrances, and the choice is all yours! 13 traditional granite steps lead up to the characterful stable-door and straight into the impressive sitting-room which is packed with original features. If you choose to enter via the ground floor (please mind your head on the low beams) take a step down into the sleek and contemporary kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with everything you need to create those fabulous holiday breakfasts or lazy evening suppers. Plan your days out whilst gathering to enjoy delicious food; the stable-door can be opened wide on balmy summer evenings if you fancy a spot of al fresco dining in the sunshine. On this floor, you will also find a super-comfy double bedroom and contemporary family bathroom.

Head up the narrow, steep stairs and you are straight into the gorgeous sitting-room complete with roaring wood-burner, perfect for those chiller days. Sink into the cosy sofas and instantly switch off from the stresses and strains of everyday life. The main bedroom with the most fabulous en suite shower-room is also located on this floor.

Outside the property there is a private courtyard, where you can enjoy a spot of lunch in the sunshine or a cocktail before heading into Mousehole for a bite to eat.

Elegantly furnished The Hideaway is a gorgeous retreat, ideal for a family, two couples or an intimate love nest for two. Once an old Pilchard Press, it has recently been lovingly refurbished to offer a chic and cosy bolthole for four lucky guests.

Around this area there are many wonderful walks from Mousehole. The coastal path to Lamorna is one of the prettiest you will find anywhere in Cornwall, or for something less energetic take a meander to Newlyn to buy fresh fish from the numerous shops there. There is also a good bus service from the village which can help you explore the area as well. The open top bus is a fun experience from Newlyn taking you all around the peninsula.

Art lovers should visit Newlyn Art Gallery, and a short drive away the Tate and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, both in St Ives, are a must. St Ives is best reached by train as the scenery along the way is absolutely breathtaking.

Foodies have an abundance of choice in Mousehole. A short stroll away from The Hideaway is 2 Fore Street and the restaurant in The Old Coastguard hotel (which overlooks the bay) is truly stunning. The Ship Inn (literally just around the corner) is a traditional Cornish village pub. If you don't fancy cooking breakfast then head over to Hole Foods Deli overlooking the harbour, their traditional Cornish breakfast is the best around. If you fancy treating yourself to a very special cream tea head over to the Rock Pool cafe, located just before The Old Coastguard hotel, but don't forget jam first, you are in Cornwall after all!

There's plenty going on throughout the year here, but perhaps the most famous attractions are the harbour lights at Christmas when hundreds of people come to see the spectacular display.
