DoubleTucked away in a peaceful rural setting on the west side of the island, The Cattle Byre is a beautifully converted barn that blends rustic charm with modern comfort. Perfect for a relaxing countryside escape.
Inside, the cottage features a bright and sociable open plan living-room, thoughtfully designed for both comfort and practicality. The cosy living space seamlessly blends into a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, making it ideal for relaxed evenings in after a day of exploring.
This property sleeps up to three guests across two bedrooms, a light and airy double and a charming single room that is perfect for a child or additional guest. A modern shower room completes the interior, offering everything needed for a comfortable stay.
Stepping outside you will find two private outdoor areas, both accessed from the front door. The rear enclosed garden features lovely views over the neighbouring fields and is ideal for dining al fresco or bringing along your four-legged friend. The other additional seating area is a perfect sun-trap as it is walled on all three sides.
Kingston Barns is made up of four adjoining barns, the three other properties are The Dairy (4536), The Stables (4537) and The Pigsty (4538). Each of which can offer separate accommodation or a perfect place to invite the whole family for a special occasion.
Perfectly positioned for exploring the Island, The Cattle Byre is just a short drive from the stunning coastline at Chale Bay and Compton Bay, with scenic coastal walks and dramatic landscapes. There are dinosaur footprints visible along Compton Bay when the tide is out, and it is one of the best locations to search for fossils, hours of fun for the younger ones.
Why not try the Tennyson trail, named after the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, it is well worth a go. Fourteen miles of stunning scenery, encompassing Farringford House and The Needles as the finale.
If you prefer to the more relaxed approach, the village of Godshill is just a 10-minute drive away. Here you will find many local shops including The Old Smithy, open all year round and offering a plethora of gifts, souveneiers and homewear. After shopping you can enjoy lunch in Cook and Baker, a family run café cooking up delicious homemade food. Then, what better way to end your visit by picking up some fresh sweet treats from Godshill Bakehouse to indulge in.
In the evening head to Ventnor town centre to enjoy the delights of local independent restaurants and pubs. Stroll down to the seafront and along the traditional esplanade to The Spyglass Inn to enjoy a hearty meal and a glass of wine while watching the sun go down.
