Sunnynook is a true beachside retreat, boasting the most incredible, unrivalled sea and beach views over Bigbury-on-Sea, Bantham and Burgh Island. This wonderful home also has a fabulous large, heated, outdoor swimming pool, and luxurious interior spaces guaranteed to ‘wow’ you. Sunnynook is a jaw-dropping retreat offering the holiday of a lifetime for all the family!

The spacious interiors create the perfect living set-up for all parties and occasions, whether it be eating and socialising together or finding a quiet area to maybe read a book or just soak up the view. Sunnynook has been equipped with all the mod-cons and technology that you would expect to find in such a prestigious property, there’s even a teriyaki grill in the kitchen and the Sky package includes children’s, sports and movie channels.

Sleeping ten, there’s occasional sleeping for an extra two guests on a sofa bed in the poolside room, please contact our Booking Office for further information and prices. I can promise that no-one will want to miss out on this holiday experience.

The views from inside the property are equally as breathtaking as those from the decked patio-area. This stunning property certainly makes the most of the uninterrupted views, with the rear of the property virtually being all glass it’s been cleverly designed to ensure that wherever you are the view follows you.

The views and location are second to none, and all this complemented by the beautiful outdoor salt water pool (available 1 April to 30 September). Easing back onto one of the sun loungers with a glass of something sparkling sounds perfect, doesn’t it!

Bigbury-on-Sea is itself one of the jewels in the South Hams’ crown. Taking a trip over to Burgh Island is a must, especially if you leave it until the tide is in, as the sea-tractor ferry service is a fabulous adventure. Bigbury-on-Sea is also home to one of the most stunning beaches. Whether you choose to while away the day on the golden sand or try your hand at something more adventurous on the water such as windsurfing or canoeing, Bigbury’s beautiful beach is perfect for both. The icing on the cake is that you have private access to the beach from the garden area, albeit down 100 plus steps. Perhaps the short stroll down the hill to the beach would be more advisable with the barbecue, beach equipment and picnic.

Should you be able to tear yourself away from this spectacular setting, the neighbouring towns of Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Kingswear are certainly worth experiencing. Within a short car journey you can be at any one of these beautiful places, all offering something very special.

For your extra enjoyment there are some other rather special sporting facilities at your disposal. You could pop up to Bigbury Golf Club and put your golfing skills to the test (at the cost of the usual club fees), or if perhaps a set or two of tennis sounds like fun, for a small fee, an exclusive arrangement is in place to give Sunnynook guests access to play on Burgh Island. Or maybe you would just prefer to enjoy a Devon cream tea in the luxurious surroundings of the hotel, if so this is also on offer with the hotel’s warmest welcome. (Details of how to arrange any of the above will be available in your booking information).

Sunnynook is truly a once in a lifetime experience which will be guaranteed to leave you and your party with some exceptionally special memories.

Due to the cliffside location, please do not leave children unsupervised in the garden. Please also take great care when using the fabulous private access steps to the beach as they are extremely steep. The decorative pond has been made safe with a surface-lined grid which is reinforced to cope with the weight of a standard-sized male; however, please also take care with little ones in this area. There is a TV in the Sitting-room/Games-room however this is for gaming use only.

Please note the swimming pool is heated by an air-source heat pump, which runs off the ambient air temperature. During warm summer months the approximate temperature would be around 28 degrees, however it will be much cooler when the ambient outdoor temperature is lower. *Only 1 cot is provided, bring your own travel cot.
