Aveton Farmhouse, found in a gorgeous Devonshire valley a few miles from the coast, is set within 134 acres of farmland. Part of the farmhouse dates back centuries but over the years several rooms have been added, resulting in this spacious home.

Furnished with flair, at its heart is a farmhouse-style kitchen/diner with a four oven Aga (a combination microwave is also provided) and French doors leading to a terrace. There is a large dining-room, a downstairs bedroom (or snug) and steps to the two living-rooms; these offer something for everyone – superfast (1Gbps) broadband with networked WiFi throughout, a home cinema and a music system in the sitting-room, and peace and quiet in the drawing-room. Upstairs, the landing has a vaulted ceiling, and three of the lovely bedrooms have en suites.

The self-contained annexe is approached by steps down from the main house and provides space for two. For parties of 12 or fewer the annexe can be excluded for a 10% price discount (Aveton Cottage (2355) is also nearby, but not available for separate rent when the farmhouse is occupied). The South Hams has much to offer, but you may not want to venture far; outside are woodland and riverside walks, and an indoor heated swimming pool with a small gym and games-room. Why go anywhere else?

The farmhouse may be available at times other than shown if Aveton Cottage (2355) is not already booked - enquiries can be made with the Classic Cottages Booking Office. The swimming pool may be used between 7am and 11pm. The Owner may occasionally use the pool between 7am and 8am but otherwise guests have exclusive use.

Take care with the step on the landing, around livestock and with children by the river. Children under 16 must be accompanied at all times around the pool. Please note a £250 damage deposit is requested on arrival. Please note, there are two CCTV cameras on the farm monitoring vehicles driving down into the yard to access the farm buildings and to monitor the lane up from the footpath by the river. Neither cameras are directed at the residential properties or pool. CCTV is required for security and insurance purposes so are not disabled. There are no cameras within the properties or in the garden, patio or pool areas.
