Visit Burncoose Nursery and Gardens - the family estate owns Gilly Barn and the gardens. Take the time to enjoy the 30 acres of woodland and the beautiful Magnolias and Rhododendrons. Visitors to the Nursery and grounds are welcome between 09.30-16.00.
Why not visit Falmouth and explore the local shops and scenery.
The owners of Gilly Barn are also custodians of the Caerhays Estate near St Austell and they would love you to visit during your holiday if you have time.
The golden sands of Gwithian are only a short drive away.
Portreath beach is stunning any time of year.
Trevaunance Cove and the village of St Agnes are so pretty.

A lovely relaxing stay at Gilly Barn. Plenty of space to hang out at the property and a central Cornwall location made this a great place to base ourselves for two weeks. With the added bonus of flexible bed arrangements (twin or zip and link). A very spacious and well equipped cottage. Comfortable beds, good showers, plenty of hot water. Good washing and drying facilities and a lovely large enclosed garden for the dog and even an outside hose to wash her down! Indeed everything at the property was of a high standard and in good working order with all the facilities of home. The property is in a quiet location with lovely views of the sunrise across farmland and easy access to both the north and south coast of Cornwall. We walked to the local pub and cafe at the reservoir down the lanes, but it is a couple of miles walk and the lanes are narrow. Supermarket a good 15 mins drive away. Overall 10/10!...

Gilly Barn is in a remote but convenient location which adds to its charm and peacefulness. It is fitted out to a very high standard with every requirement catered for. Wonderfully spacious inside and a large garden area. We will certainly be returning as it is one of those "finds" worth remembering....

Wonderful barn conversion with well-equipped modern kitchen and spacious heritage-feel living areas. We particularly liked the round living room which had once been a mill where a donkey walked round threshing or grinding the grain. The rural setting was quiet and the neighbouring dairy farm added to the charm. It is a little difficult to find initially with windy narrow Cornish lanes surrounding it but that helps one slow down and relax and appreciate the break from otherwise busy lives.
