Just a two minute walk from the tiny harbour, children's play park and popular pub in the quiet waterside village of Golant, this delightful chalet bungalow is unexpectedly spacious inside. The Sheiling is a real home-from-home, inviting you to relax and unwind from the minute you step inside with books, games and maps showing footpaths and places to explore.

The paved garden is enclosed with a pond in the front and tiny stream at the rear. A sheltered bench has views of the water, with boats on their moorings in summer and wildfowl feeding on the low tide mudflats in winter. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with footpaths meandering along riverbanks and picturesque Fowey and Polruan, linked by car and pedestrian ferries, a couple of miles away.

The Sheiling is a much loved family home, traditionally furnished with plenty of space to spread out. The main sitting-room has an open fire to toast your toes, perfect for cooler evenings and winter breaks. The south-facing sun-room opens out to an enclosed sun-trap courtyard, a lovely private space with a table and chairs for outdoor meals, and a tiny stream bubbling down towards the river. There is a separate dining-room and compact kitchen, with the double and single bedrooms sharing the bathroom.

Upstairs is a second sitting-room and a bedroom (with 'zip and link' beds so offering flexible double or twin accommodation) with an en suite shower-room, both with sloping ceilings so beware if you are tall!

The renowned yachting harbour at Fowey is close by and the Eden Project and Heligan Gardens, fabulous destinations for gardening enthusiasts, are just a few miles away. The fishing boats in Mevagissey and tall ships in historic Charlestown harbour are also within easy reach.
