Although cottage was not advertised with Log Burner, there is one in the cottage but it is out of commission due to a Flue issue, but Classic Cottage brochure shows a picture of the Lounge with the Log Burner working. This may mislead possible hirers....

This could be the absolutely perfect place to stay. Location, views, layout are all superb. Clearly a lot on money was spent on decor, a new kitchen and furnishings some years ago, but the cottage is starting to look rather tired and could do with some improvements. There was also a very strong smell of damp throughout the property, to the extent that we very nearly returned home the next morning. With an abundance of fresh air over few days the smell mostly dissipated, but not completely. There are a number of areas throughout that have damp/mould marks. The cottage could really do with a deep clean and redecoration, superficially it looks good, but closer inspection reveals quite a bit of dust/staining etc.....

As you know from our correspondence, we've shared your thoughts about the decor and suggestions for improvements with the owner, and arranged an inspection as soon as possible after your stay. There wasn't any obvious damp found during that inspection but being an older seaside cottage, we recognise that they are best to be well ventilated - especially when the air is warm and moist as it has been this autumn - and we're pleased that this made a difference during your stay. The usual schedule of maintenance will continue now that we're at the end of this very busy season, and any area of wear and tear will be addressed as part of this.
