We were fortunate to be the first visitors to stay in ‘Rockfield Lodge’ and though we booked on a whim for the new year week, we are SO glad that we did. This beautiful (and very large) house sits next to the owners’ house and in fabulous gardens. Inside, the space is very well-configured and though we were 3 adults, it would suit a wide variety of travellers: multi-generational families, friends with children, or just single families. The bedroom downstairs is a whole suite in itself. And the twin single bedroom (which we did not use) is set up adorably for children. The whole house is spacious, clean, warm and comfortable- a real home-from-home with good quality furniture and beds, quality appliances, and a really well-stocked kitchen. The games room meant we had some fun perfecting our table-tennis skills, too!! The area was so wonderfully quiet but allowed us easy access to so many fabulous places- Battle itself, Rye (utterly charming), Bexhill-On-Sea, Old Town Hastings (lovely), and Camber Sands. Sally is a lovely lady and hugely helpful. She is there if you need her but also happy to let you live out your holiday. We have stayed in a good few Classic Cottages and this was up there with the best. Thank you so much Sally and Classic Cottages. We loved the house, had a fabulous week here and would return in a heartbeat. ...
