Spend the day at Mount Egdcumbe with its historic house, gardens and acres of parkland.
When the tide is out, the beach along Whitsand Bay stretches for miles and miles.

An incredible old cottage which was immaculately clean and comfy providing everything you need. Stone throw from the beach, we did learn from the locals that in the winter months you’re better off not being on the sea front because of stormy seas! The car park was easy to use and only minutes away. Local pubs and eating houses were extremely friendly with tasty fare. And more than happy to have dogs visit too. ...

We spent some magical days at Mayflower Cottage. The village—located in the "Forgotten Corner of Cornwall"—is a gem, boasting little treasures such as the Devonport Inn, the Rising Sun, the Halfway House Inn, the small village-center coffee shop, the Spar store, a gift shop, and much more. There are also hiking trails like the South West Coast Path, along with various nearby destinations and places to visit. The cottage is furnished with great care and affection; the walls feature tasteful artwork, the tableware is lovely, and the atmosphere perfectly captures the spirit of this enchanting village and the friendliness of its residents. The tranquility, down-to-earth charm, and diversity of this region are truly unparalleled. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mayflower Cottage and would love to return....
