Basil Cottage has been fully refurbished from top to bottom with no detail overlooked.
The perfect spot to enjoy a meal at the end of each day.
Whilst the chef cooks up a storm take a stool and pour yourself a chilled glass of vino.
Head back out to the front of the house to find the stairs in the dining-area.
From the dining-area walk through to the modern fully equipped kitchen. On a sunny morning open the patio doors on to the courtyard.
Time to plan a walk out to the burrows or further afield.
The sitting-room offers the perfect setting to sit back and relax into a holiday by the sea.
A family bathroom of dreams.
On the first floor you will find a separate WC to the family bathroom.
The holiday read will be a delight in this little reading nook.
When you have time on your hands, sit back and relax.
Pass the reading nook and head up to second floor where you will discover both bedrooms.
Bedroom 1 sits to the front of the house offering peace and tranquility with an ever-changing picture window.
The sea estuary offers views across to Instow, another pretty village to enjoy.

Across the small landing you will discover bedroom 2 which sits at the back of the cottage.
Yet another feature wall that complements the area.
Lastly, climb the last set of stairs up to the third floor where you will discover the perfect hangout room for watching a film or rugby match. Being in the loft you will have to watch the sloping ceilings.

Gather in the courtyard garden for a chilled sundowner whilst the chef rustles up a feast on the barbecue.
Although small, the courtyard is perfectly formed.
When you have so many pubs on your doorstep you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to pub lunch options.
Johns is literally a two minute walk from Basil Cottage - deli or coffee shop the choice is yours.
Catch the seasonal ferry across to Instow and take a long walk along the beach whilst the tide is out.
Head to magical Clovelly.
For a rather special treat catch a ferry to Lundy from Bideford Quay.
With Dartmoor and Exmoor within striking distance head out to the great outdoors and enjoy.
Coast walks that will go on forever and ever.

Basil Cottage is a really lovely place to stay, comfy and really well equipped and positioned right on the sea front so it is easy to while away a lot of time just watching all the activity on the river. Appledore itself has lovely shops and places to eat and the area has so many fabulous walks and places to visit that we can't wait to go back....

We had a wonderful stay at Basil Cottage. The cottage is in a fantastic location on the Quay overlooking the Estuary. The property is well-equipped and beautifully styled and is very comfortable. We would love to stay here again soon.

Basil Cottage is superbly located within walking distance of shops excellent deli, cafes and bars and a good base for North Devon. Everything we needed was there. The views from cottage of estuary are superb and we never tired of watching the tides come and go. We were there for Christmas and cottage had been decorated which was lovely. Parking also easy if no room in front then public car park only a short walk from cottage. It was easy to get car unpacked and packed up. ...
