Stella Maris is a great family holiday home located on its own headland with its own wildlife to watch as well as exploring further afield This was our second stay at Stella Maris and we are highly likely to book it again for a further trip to the islands....

Out stay in Stella Maris was fabulous. A spacious and comfortable house with everything we needed, very comfortable beds and an enclosed garden for the dogs to play. The location is superb - just yards from the shoreline, perfect for a dip off the rocks at high tide or gathering mussels and rock pooling at low tide. Benbecula is an interesting and stunning low-lying isle with salt marsh, peat bogs and wide beaches - also very easy for exploring North and South Uist and finding out about the history and crofting traditions. A nice meal at the Dark Island Hotel which also has a great menu of whiskeys and gins. We encountered the owls at night and were befriended by two local pet goats who followed us home one afternoon! All in all a wonderful week. ...

The cottage was beautiful,very well equipped and everything was provided for, even the smallest of detail was thought of, from a torch to a tea towel. we had everything we needed even, tea and coffee and milk. A very lovely welcome pack too. The cottage was warm and cosy and immaculately clean and comfortable. After rainy days out sightseeing it was a lovely retreat to come home and enjoy. lovely views of the loch and just a short stroll down to the waters edge. Absolutely perfect....

Well what can we say about our holiday at Stella Maris and Uist. We’ve just returned from our holiday and it was so worth the drive. House was beautiful and a fantastic base to explore the Outer Hebrides, it really did feel like our home. Views and wildlife right on our doorstep and honestly didn’t matter about the weather, just stunning. Very lucky to have found Stella Maris, and Uist. Just perfect, no other words needed ....
