If you love the wild places and want to explore the remoteness and beauty of the Outer Hebrides, yet enjoy comfort, access to essential facilities such as a well provided for shop for supplies, places to eat, and even the most obligingly helpful and friendly garage (one car in the party had a tyre air leak) then look no further. Stella Maris is close to perfect: generously equipped and wonderfully located, you can do no better. It is central to all the Islands from Berneray in the North to to Eriskay in the South and all stops in-between so ideal for touring, walking and discovering local artisan crafts, the history and cultural delights that the Islands offer. We found it hard to leave and already yearn to return....

My family and I had a lovely stay at Stella Maris. A very comfortable home where we could relax in the evenings. In a central area to make a good base for exploring the islands. An added bonus for us, we were close to family. We will definitely be back and would recommend Stella Maris to anyone thinking about visiting the Outer Hebrides....

I cannot recommend this property enough, we loved every minute of it, the house is so well equipped, warm and cosy and Joan who manages the property is a delight and so kind and helpful. I already want to plan a return trip. If you are looking for peace and quiet and stunning scenery this is the place, one of the few places I have ever stayed where I was heartbroken to leave! Don't be put off by the weather or the long journey, this place is totally worth it!...
