I booked this cottage for my mum's 60th birthday and in our party of 8, there were 3 generations of family, ranging from 60+ down to 3 years old. I can honestly say this place has something for everyone. Let's start with the views and the grounds which are both unobstructed and stunning. The scenery goes for miles and the garden has patio areas, pretty gardens and even an area for the kids to play football (with goalposts included). In side has everything you need and more, with large bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, large lounge (with table tennis), a small gym area and even a music room with drums, guitar and piano. From the property you have a cast array of gorgeous walks, the small village of Colerne has a couple of local shops and two village pubs, which were both really nice. You are also nestled between Bath and Chippenham if you need a bit more to do but honestly, if you're thinking of hiring a place and have looked at Merryfields but cannot decide, DO IT!! It's amazing. Big thank you to the two lovely owners, John & Suzanne (I hope i have remembered that correctly) who provided all the info we needed for a wonderful stay.
