We loved the remote location in stunning countryside. It was like being on top of the world in the height of luxury! The bath was great and I particularly enjoyed lying in bed in the morning and watching the birds on the wall outside. We got very excited by a shooting star on our one clear night. We had a wonderful week here. The barn is peaceful and extremely comfy with every detail taken care of - a highlight was listening to a Karl Bohm recording of Beethoven 9 on vinyl whilst cooking dinner! Simon was very responsive to questions and organised a private astonomy session at the barn with Liam one night which was another highlight. Well placed for exploring Roman ruins and osprey habitats .... highly recommended....

Blue Hemmel is the perfect get away from it all. Whilst being off grid it feels like a home from home, but sufficiently close to the surrounding area and shops to grab a bottle of milk or have a mooch along Hadrian's Wall. Simon provides excellent communication and directions to the place. It was the perfect weeks hideaway to unwind from work, nursery and the day to day grind and we would highly recommend the place to anyone looking to switch off from the world for a while (although the WiFi connection is great, so don't fret if you can't put your phone down for a week or two!)....

Such a beautiful cottage with so many lovely, personal touches. If you live in a hectic city, Blue Hemmel is the perfect place to stay. The Playlists - what a fantastic idea. Great communication from Simon before the holiday and when we arrived.
