Good location and a well fitted cabin with all the required facilities. Good views and access to the local beach and pubs.

We enjoyed our stay and discovering the area. Having the nature reserve so close by was lovely. Seeing all the geese enjoying the green spaces on the park was a bonus, even if you had to watch where you tread! The cabin is very compact, especially the shower room. It was fine for a short break but we would not want to stay for a longer length of time. ...

Berry Cabin is adequate for a week but don’t expect to sit comfortably in the evenings.

Small but nicely presented holiday home, with pleasant decor and clean. Suitable for a family of 4 if children are young, teenagers could be a squash. There is suitable storage in the main bedroom, just a small bedside chest in the twin room. Shower room is very small, but very clean and a good shower. Added bonus of a heated towel rail. Kitchen pretty well equipped, slightly let down by some dirty bits, so we washed everything we thought we'd use. There's no comfortable sofa, instead some wicker seating which isn't all that comfortable. We put additional cushions on it to add comfort. The property has lots of space around it, which is great for the children. It also has two decking areas, so you can catch the sun all day. Seaview has a small selection of pubs etc and a great little community shop. We enjoyed Seaview a lot. We were told we could not park on site during the week, except for a designated car park a huge distance from the property, although the instructions in Berry Cottage stated we could park in a specific spot behind the property. It was only after 3 notes had been left on our car and 1 day before we came home that someone on site confirmed we could actually park in our designated spot as he hadn't realised we were in a privately owned property. It would be helpful if all users of Berry cottage were issued with a 'pass' that could be placed on their car during their stay. ...

Mrs Hughes August 2023
This cottage is very good value for money. It is nicely decorated and the owners have made every effort to ensure everything you could need is there. Tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, fresh milk and toiletries on arrival were a lovely touch. Very clean and well presented. One or 2 minor maintenance issues such as the decking coming a bit loose, which we reported. The main issue we had as a family of 4 with 2 teenagers (over 6 foot) was space. The shower is great but the bathroom is small and so is the double bedroom. Plug sockets are far away from the mirror which made it hard to get ready. That said, we were out most of the time but getting ready and drying 4 sets of towels wasn't easy. I also found the mattress too firm for me, but it didn't affect my sleep. The bedding is lovely. It is a peaceful setting, 5 mins walk from the dog friendly beach which was great for us with a spaniel. Limited facilities on site, a small shop and a cafe which isn't manned. You have to ring a bell and a member of staff from Seaview Holidays (they don't manage Berry Cottage though) comes from the office next door to serve drinks (no food). This can take some time! It's a real shame because he explained that Covid had killed business and they used to serve breakfasts/lunches and have a busy bar in the evening. It's sad the damage lockdown has done. He said that business had never really returned once they were able to reopen. Easy walking distance into Seaview and a couple of nice pubs and a hotel with a bar. Slow pace with a lot of families and older couples. The beaches are fabulous, just be careful to check tide times so you know when the sand will be there!! We had a really peaceful holiday here, relaxing and chilled which was just what we wanted. Expensive place for food so would advise taking a trip to the local Tesco (5 mins away) rather than doing your full food shop at the village store. Lots of lovely local produce for a treat, but pricy. Lovely cafe for breakfast (Lily's) and an ice cream shop. Some locals are not the friendliest, being honest, and the yacht club members seem to dominate that area of the seafront and the restaurant there. There were others who were though and holiday makers who were friendly enough, especially other dog walkers! Makes a good base to explore other beaches and towns etc. Enjoyed our holiday here but not sure if we would return due to space issues for a family of 4 and lack of evening venues with a livelier atmosphere. ...
