The cottage is in a purpose built village (1700’s) for the nearby castle. We felt like we were in a film set. Enjoyed sitting out in the front of the cottage in the morning sunshine and cool in the evening as we stayed during the heatwave. Great location for walks straight to Lowther Castle and surrounding estate. Also near the historic town of Penrith and nearby popular Ullswater in the lakes. We enjoyed our week. ...

Lowther castle cottage is a home from home. We have stayed here on multiple occasions and will be back again. The host has certainly spent a great deal of money on the property and is comfortable, safe and clean. Being in the north of the lakes you’re also able to visit the most gorgeous parts of the lakes as well as the top attractions. See you again next year! ...
