Excellent location with loads of walking from the door through the Friston Forrest and along the Cuckmere river plus the Seven Sisters. Good food in local pubs and café - all walkable. Well appointed, warm and comfortable, the barn is situated in a small quiet hamlet that seems to have escaped time. There was no through traffic and plenty of space to to park our car with a private paddock to exercise our dog. Our hosts (we never met) provided a very generous welcome package and as our stay was over Christmas week had put up seasonal decorations inside and out. Highly recommended....

Our second visit. The most beautiful peaceful spot far away from the madding crowd (although only a 5 minute drive to the main road!). Hope to return again!

Delightful stay in this very peaceful and well designed property. Perfectly placed for glorious walks along the coast, the South Downs and Cuckmere Valley, and close to lots of interesting cultural and historic sites including Charleston (Bloomsbury Group), Lewes (castle and galleries) and Eastbourne (Towner gallery). Furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. Some equipment in the property could do with a slight upgrade but nothing that detracted from our holiday. We definitely plan to return....
