We booked Swallow's Nest as a surprise treat for our friends who were celebratiung their Golden Wedding Anniversary and the cottage is just delightful, beautifully furnished, extremely well equipped, thoughtful extra touches (shampoo, shower gel, soap etc), lashings of hot water, super comfy beds and all spotlessly clean It is in a very peaceful setting, no light pollution so prepare to sleep very well. Both the owners and Classic Cottages team had left a combo if bubbly, chocs, flowers and cards for them which was a lovely thing to do. Exbourne village is pretty and a level mile and a half walk away (approx) Be aware the pub kitchen is closed but on Fri evenings 5 - 8pm there is a street food van (Turkish when we were there). Numerous pretty villages around but pub food variable. The boys said the beer was fantastic. The Duke of York in Iddesleigh is popular but 7 miles away. Lovely array of public footpaths from the cottage through rolling Devon hills with Dartmoor views on the horizon. Fantastic three days in a fantastic cottage. Highly recommended...

Absolutely beautiful cottage. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. The owner was lovely, as were the neighbours. Perfect for a quiet break away from it all. Will definitely be booking again!

As a family of four with two teenagers, we had a fab time relaxing in this cottage the bedrooms and bathrooms were amazing. The property had everything we needed and was beautifully presented and clean, although a couple of footstools for the sofas would have made the living room a bit more cosy. The sweet treat on arrival was delicious and thoughtful - as was the bottle of wine. We had thought that we would have been able to explore the local area on foot but this isn't really possible. This wasn't a major issue for us, as we were able to drive to a couple of spots to get our walking fix in. All in all a wonderful stay....

We had a wonderful stay in this cozy and comfortable holiday home. The beds were excellent and the house was spotless, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. A lovely welcome treat was waiting for us, which made us feel right at home. The location is peaceful, surrounded by just a few houses and beautiful scenery. We enjoyed cycling along The Granite Way, walking the local public footpaths and exploring Dartmoor National Park. A special highlight was the delicious breakfast prepared by volunteers at The Burrow Shop in the neaby village of Exbourne - highly recommended! Overall, al perfect place to relax and enjoy the area....
