La Cabine Francaise

Superb property with great hosts in a perfect and peaceful location - we loved it. Much more space than we anticipated - perfectly accommodated us both and our dog who is crated at night. Lots of lovely touches including a very generous welcome basket for humans and furry friends alike. A range of miniature luxury toiletries also came in very handy when we realised we had forgotten shower gel! The location is fabulous surrounded by beautiful villages and just a short drive to the coast. Would recommend Eype beach for anyone travelling with their dog - easy parking and dog friendly year round. The village pub is an easy 15/20 minute walk and perfect for an evening stroll. We also enjoyed delicious meals (with pooch) at the Greyhound in Sydling St Nicholas and at Brassica in Beaminster (where there is also a great local co-op). For those wishing to stay in - we also used the barbecue provided, followed by a drink by the fantastic fire pit. All in all a fabulous stay which was very much value for money - thank you!...

We loved our stay at the cabin. It is thoughtfully presented, with a comfy bed, good shower and more storage than we expected. We were warm and cosy even in cold, rainy weather and loved being surrounded by nature. The owners were welcoming and helpful. A really lovely place to stay....

We had a relaxing stay at the cabin and enjoyed watching the sheep grazing nearby. We had everything we needed to be cosy and comfortable and had a couple of movie nights in the lounge hut. Plenty of nearby pubs for lunch out and some lovely walks. Perfect....

We had a delightful stay. The owner could not have been more welcoming and showed us around when we got there. Everything you need for a short stay. We took full advantage of the snug cabin in the evening and even the weather - high winds and rain - couldn't dampen our enjoyment. ...

What a lovely place to stay! Such a picturesque location, so peaceful, complete with beautiful sheep in the field opposite the cabin, and with the benefit of well equipped facilities, including wifi and an excellent bathroom. There were many thoughtful touches, such as the bottle of prosecco when we arrived; we used the barbecue and enjoyed eating out on the terrace and the owner was helpful and friendly. The perfect place to relax, ‘ far from the madding crowd’; take a Thomas Hardy novel with you or whatever floats your boat and enjoy! Highly recommended! ...
