La Cabine Francaise

This is honestly a very special place. I spent Christmas week here by myself and the wreath, twinkly lights and tinsel was all delightful. I had a warm welcome from Carole who had already text me asking if there were any extra bits I would need during my stay. There are three cabins and each is perfect. I loved the lounge hut with the big TV and reclining sofa and spent every evening there, reading or watching TV in front of a roaring log burner. The main hut gave me a super comfy bed, a well-equipped kitchenette and large dining table, and another log burner. The bathroom hut has a great shower with lovely hot water and warm towels. Outside there is a decked area where I sat and watched the stars at night; you can also make a fire in the fire pit and sit there if you prefer. The place is completely silent and there is no light pollution. I’d say an added bonus is the gorgeous flock of black-faced sheep, some of whom have curly horns. I’d love to come back here one day, it was just what I needed. Thank you Carole & Neil & the flock....

We had a lovely stay, very well appointed Shepherds Hut With plenty of room with the extra lounge hut and bathroom. Good organisation with luggage trolley, wood for fires and bbq. Nothing overlooked. We had a very nice Sunday lunch at the Greyhound @ Sydling St Nicholas.. essential to book We would definitely stay at La Cabine Francaise again ...

Wonderful shepherd hut on its own in a great setting. There are two shepherd huts to use so don’t feel cramped plus the excellent bathroom hut. Stayed in cold part of March but got the underfloor heating and wood burners to keep cosy warm. Owners are very welcoming. ...
