Mr Cleaver September 2022

On booking the lodge we asked for early/ late check out due to having our wedding while staying at the lodge but was rejected due to housekeeping timings. We then arrived the day before our wedding to find the lodge hadn’t be attended by housekeeping as the bed hadn’t been made, there was no towels or toilet roll and it wasn’t the cleanest. We tried to contact the housekeeper on the number provided but couldn’t get through so had to contact the head office. This was eventually dealt with, each party blaming the other for the mistake. The property has a great location especially if you are having or attending a wedding on the Mount Edgecumbe estate. The small roof terrace is lovely for morning and evening drinks. The property has an issue with bugs (spiders mostly) which borders a infestation. I understand it is an older property but this issue is very significant and did effect our stay at the property. The mattress in the bedroom was really poor as it felt more like a mattress topper than an actual mattress. One of us ended up sleeping on the sofa as this was considerably more comfortable. ...

Thank you for your review for Orangery Lodge. We are so glad that the housekeepers were able to quickly address the concerns that you raised on arrival and were there within half an hour but understand this was disappointing for you. They always try to accommodate a late check out request where possible and are sorry that they were unable to do so for you on this occasion. We do find that mattress comfort is very personal and it is hard to match everyone's preference but will look into this and monitor future feedback. We hope to welcome you to another Classic Cottage in the future. Sarah, Customer Support...

Mrs Yarrow September 2021

We loved the situation of the Orangery Lodge, there are not many place anyone could stay where cows can be seen grazing in fields, war ships passing by the sitting room window and a tea room set in a formal garden twenty pace from the front door and to top it all it was right on the South West Coast Path. A wonderful place to stay....

Great location as a base for the perfect break. The Orangery is a character property with all the features you could want, including a lovely little seaside balcony.

Mrs Jackson August 2021

A property full of charm in unique, beautiful surroundings. Very warm and comfortable, a joy to stay in. With safe parking right outside one can hide the car keys and just enjoy the park (almost all to yourself when the visitors have departed), it's beaches or just potter across the way and take the ferry to Plymouth attractions. Icecream, coffee, cream tea, lunch - all to hand next door in the Orangery all of which can be enjoyed inside or out in the formal garden. ...

Ms Place August 2021

This was a charming property in the lovely setting of parkland. It has unexpectedly good public transport links with Plymouth and nearby Cornish villages. Set right on the edge of the Tamar as it meets the sea the water also provides an endlessly changing vista from the sitting room....
