Orangery Lodge is 'different' and unspoiled. Everything needed is there - 'it's what it says on the tin'. Property is in a prime position and there's a lovely VERY private deck where one can sit & watch the estuary activity day or night - fascinating. There's so much to do, one can say goodbye to the car as accessibility to other places by bus or ferry are very reliable and feet can take you anywhere! Lots to explore, walking for miles coast or countryside, or wander gently in the gardens or Estate, everything that anyone could wish for, for a relaxed, peaceful break.
Mr Mangan April 2022
A wonderful place! Peaceful and relaxing. Perfect for a relaxing holiday but well positioned if you fancy an active, cultural stay. We loved it and will return!
Mrs Gould April 2022
Excellent place to stay. Walks straight from the front door. Lovely raised deck with wonderful views. Minutes away from the ferries to Plymouth and The Royal William Yard . Bus stop minutes away. We took the bus to Cawsand and walked back through the park. Wonderful food at the nearby Orangery which you can carry out and eat at Orangery Lodge on the raised deck. We will be returning.
Mr BROWN March 2022
Loved the quirkiness of the lodge, beautiful location lovely views from the decking. An absolute gem and a pleasure to stay there.
Mrs Taylor March 2022
Superb location in Mt Edgcumbe Country Park. The viewing platform in the back yard overlooking the river is a brilliant way of using the limited amount of outside space. You do have to be quite agile to use it as the steps are quite steep. It's a perfect spot for a morning coffee, an afternoon cup of tea or a lunchtime gin and tonic.
Mr Hughes February 2022
The position and outlook were superb. The ferry to Plymouth, a regular bus service, coast path outside the door and a pub nearby meant that we didn't have to use our car.
Miss Martin January 2022
We loved our stay here so much. It is a charming house in a lovely and peaceful country park (that you can enjoy all to yourself once the visitors have left for the day). Great transport links (foot ferry and bus nearby), scenic walks, lovely cafe next door, a traditional pub a short walk away which does great food. We are already looking at suitable dates to return!

Will be returning to this lovely cottage in its unique surroundings
Mrs Yarrow September 2021
We loved the situation of the Orangery Lodge, there are not many place anyone could stay where cows can be seen grazing in fields, war ships passing by the sitting room window and a tea room set in a formal garden twenty pace from the front door and to top it all it was right on the South West Coast Path. A wonderful place to stay.
Mrs Jackson August 2021
A property full of charm in unique, beautiful surroundings. Very warm and comfortable, a joy to stay in. With safe parking right outside one can hide the car keys and just enjoy the park (almost all to yourself when the visitors have departed), it's beaches or just potter across the way and take the ferry to Plymouth attractions. Icecream, coffee, cream tea, lunch - all to hand next door in the Orangery all of which can be enjoyed inside or out in the formal garden.
Ms Place August 2021
This was a charming property in the lovely setting of parkland. It has unexpectedly good public transport links with Plymouth and nearby Cornish villages. Set right on the edge of the Tamar as it meets the sea the water also provides an endlessly changing vista from the sitting room.
Mr Christie July 2021
lovely location BUT the description 'Occasionally The Orangery restaurant is used for weddings, and you may hear the drift of music and laughter (please check with the Sales team if you wish to come when no weddings are planned)' was somewhat wide of the mark, it was far louder than a drift. Ideal if you are a guest at a wedding as right next door and noise would not be an issue.
Mr Cowling June 2021
Great location as a base for the perfect break. The Orangery is a character property with all the features you could want, including a lovely little seaside balcony.
Mrs Taylor June 2021
Liked the raised platform in the yard. Waterside location. Easy access to Cremyll ferry and Royal William Yard ferry. Good parking spot by cottage.
Mrs Griffiths May 2021
Well worth a visit to Orangery Lodge, the cottage and the location is very good, with lots of nice walks right outside your door
Mrs Wright May 2021
A lovely cottage in wonderful grounds a good base for exploring the Rame penisular and a trip to Devon by ferry.
Mr Jeffries April 2021
wonderful location and beautiful lodge good value for the money. If you are walkers there are some amazing walks. park and grounds are well worth a visit also a lovely cafe on the grounds. Ferry and pub close by.
Ms Turnley December 2020
A delightful cottage in peaceful beautiful surroundings. Just what a get away should feel like. Loved it.
Mrs Weight October 2020
Great location, lovely gardens. Great for dogs
Mrs Hudson October 2020
Orangery Lodge exceeded our expectations for a one bedroom cottage. It was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished though lacked a few homely touches like cushions on the sofa, probably due to Coronavirus rules. Mount Edgecumbe Estate is so beautiful, plenty of walks and so much to see. The Orangery Restaurant, 50 yards away did the best English breakfast we have ever had and the staff are so friendly. What a pity it isn't open until early evening so you could have dinner there. All in all a great place to stay and we will definitely be back!
Mr Hayes August 2020
It should be pointed out that there is a constant steady stream of people passing by your front windows and door all day

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment. The Lodge is on the edge of the park, and near the entrance from the Cremyll Ferry, so there will be footfall in the area during the hours that the park is open. Details on opening times and any special events taking place in the grounds can be found at www.mountedgcumbe.gov.uk/. Tanya, Customer Support
Mr Rudling August 2020
This is our 5th time staying at Mount Edgcumbe, we normally stay in Cremyll Lodge. Thought we would try Orangery Lodge for a change. Out of the two we prefer Cremyll Lodge slightly, it’s swings and roundabouts, the parking is a lot better at the Orangery , Cremyll you have to park in the car park up the road as the drive way is almost impossible. The garden is a lot better in Cremyll and suits our dog so much better, the raised platform in the Orangery is ok , does have lovely views. The court yard could definitely do with improvements. The upstairs in the Orangery is better than Cremyll, but prefer the downstairs in Cremyll. We absolutely love Mount Edgcumbe, the location is brilliant and so dog friendly.
Mrs Bayley July 2020
Such lovely accommodation for 2 in a fantastic setting. Within the orangery grounds and right on the waterfront. Pub and shale beach less than 100 metres away. We had our dog with us and we all enjoyed the walks on the estate and to Rame peninsular. We look forward to returning in the future.
Mrs Hayes July 2020
Great position in a lovely park with lots of walks from the door. Has a great garden platform that has fantastic views across to the Royal William Yard. Lots to see if you love boats and wildlife. Close to the Cremyll ferry.
Mrs Poulton March 2020
We had an excellent holiday in what were difficult circumstances. The cottage is lovely, the views from the lounge window and the viewing platform are excellent. The Orangery Cafe was open so we had several tasty meals that we were able to take back to the cottage. Early morning and late evening walks through the historic gardens are quiet and peaceful because the gates to that area are still locked. It feels as though it is your private property. We will be back when normality returns.
Mr Hume October 2019
A fantastic retreat with lots of great walks and easy access to Plymouth. The cottage itself has everything you need for a nice relaxing break. The balcony on the back of the property is a great addition. It was just a shame we were unable to make the most of it as the weather in late October, early November was not kind to us (but hey we never expected it to be!!??). We hope to return in the summer to take advantage of this great space.
Mrs Roots September 2019
A wonderful and comfortable cottage set in an outstanding location. You have the best of both worlds the incredible country park to walk and explore with its amenities and the waterfront where you can see the ships, boats and historic Plymouth. The ferry to Plymouth and its attractions are within a short walk. The park and cottage were so lovely we hardly left it for the whole week. Our dog was in her element.
Mrs Lee June 2019
Fantastic location, beautiful property, wonderful views and very dog friendly! It was a pleasure to just open the front door and have so many walking opportunities! We can’t wait to re-book for next year!
Mrs Holt June 2019
The high level deck gives stunning views.
