The sitting-room has a wood-burning stove and deep comfy sofas to curl up on.
Two sets of doors open onto this wide paved terrace and the fully enclosed garden. The post and rail fencing also has rabbit proof wire and so is as secure as is reasonably possible.
The kitchen/dining-room is really spacious, with the front door opening to the farmstead.
The two and a half acre arboretum is the most beautiful and peaceful place to explore, sit with a book or have a picnic lunch.
Stairs lead from the sitting-room to the first floor of the cottage. There is also a door directly out onto the patio.
The kitchen is a delightful sociable space to cook in, with the farmhouse table in the other half of the room.
The sparkling worktop will inspire you to cook, but there is also a footpath through woodland directly to the friendly local pub.

The main bedroom has a king-size bed and its own en suite shower-room. High ceilings and a large window make this room lovely and light and airy.
You can sit in bed with your morning cup of tea and look out over the meadow. You are quite likely to see deer grazing in the evening or early in the morning.
The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the corridor.
This is the en suite shower-room for the master bedroom. The wonderful shower has a rainfall shower head as well as a conventional one.
The second bedroom has views out over the 2.5 acre arboretum which is filled with unique tree species.
The bathroom next to the twin bedroom has a bath as well as a fitted shower.

Crab Apple cottage is a real gem. The standard of furnishing, equipment, comfort and cleanliness is exceptional and this is simply the best cottage we have stayed in. Lucy and Ian are excellent hosts; nothing is too much trouble and they really go the extra mile to ensure that their visitors have a memorable experience. The outside space is lovely and the arboretum is simply beautiful and such a unique selling point. Lucy's welcome pack is so thoughtful too; it's lovely to have such delicious local produce, and as usual I came home with a few jars of Daisyland crab apple jelly. This was our third visit and we've just booked to go back next year. Need I say more?...

This is our second visit to this absolute gem of a property. It is clean, tidy and exceptionally well presented - both inside and out. The decor is fresh and modern, yet still keeps a lovely country feel - a neat trick. The furnishings and finishes are exquisite and well thought out. The bed is very comfortable. The log burner a real treat, in the cooler months. Plus a private patio and garden, which are great to eat and relax in. This is a great cottage for dog owners, as the garden is spacious, fully enclosed, safe and escape proof. Inside, there is a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs, which means there's no worry about them disappearing upstairs. Lucy and Ian are great hosts, welcoming and friendly, without being intrusive. A visit to the Keepers Cottage (the pub through the woods) is an absolute must, as it has a lovely beer garden and has very generous portions of delicious food. We've already booked to go back next year. I can highly recommend this property....

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. It is extremely well appointed and maintained . Lucy and Ian have considered the needs and comforts of all their guests - adults , children and dogs. We had a lovely stay and can’t wait to return.
