Jays Cottage is such a pretty sight. With its private courtyard, this delightful cottage makes for the perfect holiday cottage.
The outdoor pool is a real favourite with all generations.
Anyone for a spot of tennis? If so, please don't forget your racket and balls.
Cosy sitting-room, with electric wood-burner effect stove at your disposal at a flick of a switch.
If the outdoor pool doesn't tickle your fancy, this large indoor heated pool is also available.
Pitting your wits against the many species of fish in this lake is a great way to spend a day.
Looking back at the pool and the cottages.
Jays Cottage has a delightful second patio. Perfect to ensure that you have sun all day long.
This patio is a real sun-trap. Perfect for dining al fresco.
The cosy and inviting sitting-room.
Compact and well-equipped kitchen.
The master bedroom.
The twin room is perfect for children; however adults have also enjoyed a great night's sleep in this room.
Family bathroom.
Step outside of the cottage and you have so much to do right on your doorstep.
The wall lined garden is a great place to enjoy a range of ball sports, or perhaps a simple picnic in the sun.
For the younger members of the group there is this lovingly maintained play-area.
Such a safe setting ensures that the 'little ones' can't escape (unless they use the main entrance of course).
The beautiful grounds burst with colour and life.
A stroll around these lovely grounds is a real pleasure.
Or perhaps a wander through the woods could be a delightful way to spend a few sunny hours.
Another view of the well-maintained tennis court.
The entrance to the Colmer Estate is very inviting, giving you a great taste for what lies within the grounds.

We had a fabulous stay! The children loved the swimming pools, the beds are super comfy, the house was absolutely spotless and really lovely. We loved having a combi boiler which meant hot water for the random shower times after the beach or pool. The Colmer Estate is really beautiful and we all loved exploring. For your first night we can recommend getting a COOK meal from the Spar at the BP garage.

We loved Mothecombe, Bantham and Bigbury beaches - Make sure you head to Burgh Island to sample the Pilchard Inn, we had a lovely meal there. Burrator Resevoir is a stunning part of Dartmoor as is Lydford Gorge (we can recommend the Castle Inn). We popped to see family in Looe and have a day in Cornwall and it was the perfect base to explore this area of Devon and Dartmoor.

The children are already asking when we can return!

We had such a brilliant stay in this lovely little cottage -it's compact but perfect for what we needed. Facilities within the estate were an amazing bonus. Would love to come back when indoor pool open and we can make use of the table tennis table (only closed due to covid restrictions). The housekeeper was really helpful when we had a couple of queries. California Inn pub up the road was fantastic - proper delicious pub grub and service lovely. The cottage is well positioned to be close to lovely beaches (about 25 mins drive to most) but also good driving distance to other activities if you have children: clip and climb centre, Exeter; ibounce trampolining, Newton Abbott; River Dart Country Park. So we weren't beaten by the very changeable British weather! We DEFINITELY want to come back. A holiday of happy memories.

A nice cosy cottage located in an ideal place for exploring Devon.

December 2019

Returning to Jays Cottage which suits me really well.....

September 2019

We all had a superb holiday at Jays Cottage, the owner's have really thought of everything you need, shame the weather was not on our side, but we still made the most of our time...the scones and cream was a very welcome surprise, as was the milk, all very thought full...only one thing which we asked for, and that was the heating to be put on before we arrived, and it wasn't, took about an hour to warm up, but all in all, a very cosy, warm, clean cottage, which we definatly would like to book again,Thankyou to the owner's for making a tiny cottage so comfortable to stay in, we also felt very privileged to be staying on the Colmer Estate, as it is our surname??!many thanks.??

Lovely location, good facilities on the Estate.

August 2019

A perfect family get away if you love swimming, beaches, crabbing with good local food and craft ales on your doorstep.

August 2019

Lovely little cottage in a tranquil setting. The outside pool was a smash hit with my two girls. We would be more than happy to return and holiday at jays cottage again in the future. Absolutely no complaints at all regarding the cottage and the service provided by Classic Cottages. Thank you.

March 2019

Comfortable cottage in a private setting close to all sites of interest in South Devon. Services on site were magnificent. The indoor swimming pool was a lovely temperature. The grounds were lovely to explore. Great location, 20 mins to Dartmoor, 20 mins to beaches.

October 2018

Excellent value as it was half term.

August 2018

We loved the cottage and the quiet, idyllic setting - deep in the country and yet very close to all facilities anyone could want. Would just add a word of caution if staying during the Summer months - watch out for the European Hornets that are all around the area. Unlike other members of the wasp family, they hunt at night and so are attracted to lights shining through open windows!
